I was watching OPM on my flight back from uni for the break because I thought capeshit would be normalfag enough to not bother whoever was sitting next to me, I ended up on the episode with Puripri Prisoner and the Sea King battling each other by ripping off their clothes and trying to out-gay each other with some 80 year-old woman sitting next to me. I wanted to just turn it off, but I thought that would make it even more embarrassing by acknowledging that there was a possibility that she was noticing it and I was watching it despite that, so I just decided to continue watching as if I wasn't aware there was anybody near me. Fortunately the power eventually died and there weren't any outlets for my laptop charger, so I had an excuse to switch to listening to music on my phone and pretending I didn't exist.

This really is the only way to go about it. I love anime as much as the next guy, but I certainly wouldn't watch it if I have family over. There is still something taboo about watching Chinese cartoons as a grown man, but since it was such a significant part of my childhood, I don't plan on giving it up any time soon. Thank God work doesn't interfere.
Anyway, I certainly can't help but cringe seeing teenagers that simply over do it. It really does kill me since (at least in my experience) they only add to the stigma that puts me in the position I'm in.
Whatever, I can't really change anything, so do bear with my little rant.
