He used to take me on board the ships he was working on whenever they were in port in our city, I kinda miss that.
It's a shitty job in some aspects, but it could be nice for someone with no friends or family like an average anon.

The girls are pretty weak in design and character. The first half of the episode was boring but I think it's going to be fun now they're at sea if they don't go 'training exercise' and they're actually on the run.
The premise is interesting and it's nice to see some actual stakes this time but I'll be cautiously optimistic.
This boat could sink very fast if they fuck it up.

This one has Aniplex bucks, and the other has LN Publisher bucks, Active Raid had neither of those things. I think another reason Active Raid worked out is because IMS wasn't doing the action, which is also the case here.

She shouldn't have ordered a counter-attack before letting anyone know they were under attack, but the attackers were probably banking on them assuming it was a training exercise and calling in for backup instead of solving it on their own would be a failure.

It's all an elaborate training excercise, isn't it? I can't even really get invested in the drama because I know this is what it's going to turn out to be. They were late for what was likely a briefing and now they are 'it' for a war game scenario. It'll probably resolve itself around episode 3-4 and then the rest of the show will be standard bullshit.

That's what makes me thinking it's more. Getting so shady just over hiding it's set on boats and not at sea? First episode already has a bit of drama going to set things up. It's not like they'd just blow their load now and show girls suffering in advertisements before anything actually happens in the show.
Hence I think it's going to be a gradual thing. They're clearly putting effort into the advert side of things with this shit so I doubt it's half-assed. Has to be more to this.

I doubt it. The conflict seems to involve something entirely different. If Moeko does end up fighting Akeno, it won't be because she wants to. On the other hand, if she's attacked and loses, she will die or get captured. Either way, the theme of "hard work vs talent" won't be brought up.
