It's like people forget how Dragon Ball works. Goku was already the strongest on Earth by the end of DB, and the strongest in the universe by the end of Freeza, yet they still managed to asspull Androids out of nowhere, who by no means should have been a threat, and THEN they asspulled Buu, made Goku and Buu stronger than literal Gods (Kais), THEN they asspulled Beerus who was even stronger than all of the other Gods like some super God or whatever the fuck Toriyama was thinking.
Maybe they'll explain it away by saying Vados helped train Hit, or maybe Universe 6 just has a higher power ceiling than Universe 7. Or maybe it won't get explained at all. Either way, this shit is going to keep happening. Goku and Vegeta are going to keep coming across characters who have no business being as strong as they are, until either Toriyama dies, or the series ends with them meeting the literal Abrahamic God-above-all-Gods.
I assumed by now, everybody who couldn't keep up with Toriyama bullshit dropped out around the time Cell blew up King Kai's planet or during the early Buu saga.

First you put up an ki barrier or an area attack. No matter how "fast" he is, he still has to get through it.

Super's changed things up a bit during the movie retellings already, and there certainly haven't been any power level comparisons since Goku and Vegeta's 3 year training spree in the RoSaT.
The closest we have is Toriyama's statement that he currently has no plans for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Beerus and Whis, meaning that even Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken Goku still won't be Beerus-level.

I really fucking liked the films, they had better animation but more importantly they had more consistent story and continuity. Off the top of my head

I wouldn't really mind Goku and Vegeta getting depowered somehow or having power ceilings lowered. Ultimately the ceilings are irrelevant, but having them around just causes people to get frustrated, especially as they approach the limits of absurdity like being within striking distance of a literal God of Destruction. It also means side characters progressively lose more and more relevance which makes it harder to write a decent story as everything can't just be Goku/Vegeta.

Vegeta and Frieza both said that there were no more Saiyans left. Frieza certainly wouldn't have let one of the King's sons live. Frieza must have known about Tarble because Tarble had a scouter (scouters are communication devices).
Plus there's all the minor bullshit like Tarble looking like a little kid even though he's 40 at the minimum, Tarble not being evil like every other Saiyan (did he hit his head too?) or Tarble somehow finding out that Vegeta was on Earth by talking to a Namekian.

It's just a comedy adventure that turns into an action oriented manga. The art style is very simple, yet effective, but the backgrounds are gorgeous. Also, Toriyama has probably the best paneling in shounen manga. The fights feel brutal, yet very neat and tidy.

Goku is able to counter it, but Hit reveals that this is only his preliminary secret technique, and reveals that this isn't the limit to his power.
Goku who is now having a hard time against the unleashed Hit, the strongest fighter in Universe 7, he has to bet it all on one technique to finish things.

That depends on what you mean by "God level". Final Form Freeza in RoF, even without Golden form, was already stronger than any Z enemy, and yet Base Goku already matched him. Obviously they were still both significantly bellow Beerus' level though.
And no, there's no "Base Goku was using God Ki!". North Kai states that he only begins using God Ki when he turns into SSJ Blue.

Why do people completely miss the point of Toyotaro's AF? He picked a bunch of fan rumors and designs for "AF" and tried to make a story out of that. He wasn't the one who created Xicor or SSJ5.

The issue people are having is that Beerus has become a power ceiling for DBS, which has never happened with any of the previous villains in DB since they were all beat by Goku.
The whole idea of god ki also makes it hard to believe that there are opponents within the power gap between Goku and Beerus, which this tournament is trying to prove.
