Whats your favourite anime and why is it The Tatami Galaxy
My favourite anime is K-On! thanks for asking but I like your show too.
It doesn't really have any flaws so it's fair to say it was a perfect anime.

I thought Tatami Galaxy was as entertaining to watch as Endless Eight.

some of the arcs are a little dull but overall it's pretty fantastic
To be honest I never really thought about what my "favorite anime" would be. I mean say I enjoy an anime for being very funny and another one for having great plot and its tragedy, could I really compare them?
What about an anime with political intrigue and masterminds outsmarting each other, and an anime about one man's fall into madness and his way of coping with it?
But if I had to answer I'd sayCard Captor Sakura
Probably Mushishi with Tatami close second along with Nichijou.

I'll never understand the appeal that Mushishi has. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent, comfy anime that's nice to watch from time to time but I don't get why so many people consider it as a classic. I think that the reason why it gets so much praise is the same as to why Lain, Haibane Renmei, and other okayish anime get so much praise, they don't fit on the norm of what people consider the average anime to be and because of that, people act like they were better than they really are.

I mean, there's no "true value" that people ignore because they're different, but because they stand out they appeal very strongly to people in that target niche.

I like it because I love its story telling. I love Japanese folklore, and I love how different it is from western folklore. It feels much more human and down to earth, while still being beautiful and fantastical.
My only complaint about Mushishi is that the animation is lacking at times.
