1. Nobody knows. There are one or two assholes harassing her but on the whole a lot of fans in the English speaking world and Japan have closed ranks around Emitsun fully intending to support and stand by her.
2. The reality is that Idolm@ster is popular but Love Live just happens to be more popular worldwide. To give you an idea, it's not the phone game alone. The movie sold about 5 times more and recently it was even popular enough for them to organise live screenings of the final concert in my city. It's as popular as K-On as it's height but much more.
Maybe if DereStage was exported overseas but even then I doubt we'll be seeing anything as popular as LL anytime soon.

The Aya Hirano thing was different though in that it was recently found that she slept with literally an entire band (minus the bassist) not as a porn job but out of pure slut lust, while this thing is some old nugget from many years ago before her career took off.
Granted she's still forever fucked because of it, but I always valued the characters more than the seiyuu. Even so Hirano still gets work today, while with LL this is probably the worst thing that could possibly happen to Emi because of the wota purity standards.
