It was the questionable choice of the male lead's casting voice for me.
Whenever Coconuts was on-screen, I couldn't help but hear Raildex's Touma, who's only tolerable when his otherwise nasally, whiny voice is breaking in anger and ready to punch someone.

She is indeed hot, but the show wasn't that great. The flashbacks with Saya were pretty nice, and she ended up being more of a likable character than Hotaru. Hotaru's outfits were delicious, however.
Hotaru had no character at all other than Dagashit.
Saya was adorable for the entire time.
I'm not saying this as a bestgirlfag either, I really wanted to like Hotaru but I just couldn't.

I won't complain about dagashi in show about dagashi which is based in a manga about dagashi and have in the title dagashi. Personally liked it, more than the manga because it has a bit more of character interaction and Hotaru is sexy, but she likes dagashi too much.

I had the same experience. Thought Hotaru surely must be best girl, but then I actually watched the anime.
Im watching it, currently at ep 9 and i have to say its really cute/interesting. Saya was really cute and Hotaru gave some fanservice, especially in this Boob Ice Cream scene.
But now i just wanna try and taste all those sort of sweets.
