Just finally got around to start watching it. I think it's good so far. Easy going, different environment, like the art style. Sure it's not like it's incredible yet, but it's certainly good enough to warrant finishing.
I've been getting it off my backlog lately. Being slow-paced and episodic makes it hard to marathon, but more than that, each episode kinda makes me feel uncomfortable. Like, they play on some pretty primal fears. Those damn magic bugs just cause so much trouble.

Haven't seen Mushishi here and thought people considered it a more deep and intellectual show. If it isn't, and not trying to argue that it is, then what is a 'deep' anime?
And I'm not literally asking for /r/s here, just wanted to know if there is any one show /a/ can agree is truly 'deep'.

All of those shows are deep in different degrees. People are just insecure about their tastes. So they'll say Eva isn't deep because then they don't have to defend that stance.
Of course even deep shows can be done wrong. I'd argue that Psycho Pass or LOTGH is "deep" done the wrong way because of its use of unsubtle exposition. The blatent form takes away value from what these shows try to deliver.
