OP here. I'm actually going out to see Nagato and Prinz Eugen at Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands in a few months among other things. If I recall correctly it went: Nagato is made to go to the Atoll, springs a leak, nobody fixes it, reduces its top speed, another ship explodes its engine, they try to make Nagato tow said ship, one of the boilers explodes as a result, they finally give her some emergency repairs, survives the first nuke like a champ, survives the underwater nuke also, but the blast wave causes the leak to spring again, floods uncontrollably, capsizes and sinks.
