Not only is Yurika incredibly endearing, she's both a strong idol who does exactly what she loves as well as someone who has a publicly secret soft side, thanks to that one scandal. Not only that, but she's been shown to care for her individual fans much more personally that almost everyone else, and is in fact probably the best senpai idol to all of the Akari generation. Just listen to her in the last episode and the movie. Though she's strict and forceful when she tells Akari to stop being a brown-noser, she only does it because of the love and care she has. Hearing her say "Akari, well done" as she parachutes down shows just how intimately she cares for those younger than her, not to mention the handshake episode where she encourages that little girl.
They shouldn't have defanged Ran so much. She was still serious and interesting in S1 but in later seasons she just faded in the background as some sort of addendum to Aoi antics.

To the little girls who were discussing the S3 Aikatsu 8 a few hours ago, it was not based on the global Aikatsu Ranking like in S2. They made it into a popularity contest where idols got voted in for the activities they performed during that small timeframe from the announcement to the start of the Aikatsu 8 tour. That's why Sumire was able to get in while Seira and Mikuru didn't.
They didn't show the Aikatsu Ranking after the movie because they knew it would've been unrealistic for the Akari gen to make a real dent in the top 10. It's only in the last two episodes that Akari is treated as being on the level of Ichigo and the other ones from the latter's gen, and even then it's only Akari.
