I really like Shinto stuff in general because as an American I grew up with fiction rooted in Greek or Roman mythology more than anything. The reason I like HnM isn't the design though, it's that it just comes across as terrifyingly evil without delving into edgy tryhard territory. Very few villains are done that well.

Glad to see it back, I really enjoyed it, scientists nonwithstanding. Ushio being forgotten was really heart-wrenching. I was under the impression there was an ass-load of stuff left, like a whole christmas cake's rump worth of shit left. I thought it was another 26 episodes but I guess it was wrong.

The first season made me reread it, they did cut out a LOT of random monsters, like the biker gang, the yuki onna, that cave monster on the train, and those two frat boys and the girl he traveled north with. It's a shame, but at least it seems like the parts they are adapting are faithful.
