Now I'm not going to say I've consumed a lot of early harem to know what I'm talking about, but in my personal experience harems used to have a single winner. Maybe we just have different definitions for "harem," to me, it's just where there are many girls after (or in some relation to) the MC.
My complaint is completely biased I suppose. Most of the excitement in harems to me is to find out who's going to win. It's like a mystery novel, like

Anyone reading Netooku? MC entered a competition and won an elf slave. He won and found out that the elf slave he got was a High Elf Royal. Apparently the High Elf is following God's guidance and that made her work out being a slave for some reason.
Anyway the slave contract ended up rewriting itself to favor the High Elf over the MC but the rewritten contract left out the "No Sex Orders" bit.

I like reading WNs but I always get partway through them and get distracted by other things. Reading a WN is a real time sink since it's not my native language. I have to use translation aggregator to convert the kanji and say out the sentences in my head to understand it. The only WNs I've actually managed to complete are Mushoku Tensei, Shield Hero, and Jashin Average. I've been reading a ton of others but by the time I revisit them, I want to re-read them from the start and the cycle repeats itself.

It's a twist on the reincarnated into a galgame world type story. MC girl reincarnated into the world as one of the galgame hero's heroines but instead of like in the game where she was saved by her brother that didn't happen and she was thrown off a cliff to die by her father. Her brother, the game's hero, is also a reincarnated person but he chose to not save her because she's not important in the game at all.
Anyway his choice to not save her ended up fucking up everything for him. She survived the fall off the cliff, abandoned her previous life memories to a shinigami and then was picked up by the Demon army and basically started killing humans by the hundreds.
As of the recent translated chapters, she's now killed pretty much all of her brother's harem members or prevented them from joining her brother's harem in the first place.

Also if you put hints like that, it is not foreshadowing unless you press on otherwise you drag it out unnecessarily and the plot does not focus on that entire plot that could be focused. There's no way of knowing if you'll like it without knowing your taste in stuff. I personally enjoyed the hell out of it.
