Kurumada has zero interest on het shipping so he gave Seiya a love interest just because a hero needs a girlfriend. Miho is the childhood friend with some tsun tendencies, typical shounen girlfriend that stay on her corner crying or praying while our manly hero does manly things. Again, Kurumada's wish fulfillment didn't include interaction with the opposite gender, it's obvious from his mangas that what Kurumada always wanted is to be surrounded by fabulous men and be accepted as one of them. Nevertheless, Saori took the role of the girlfriend while Miho was reduce to cameos, a trivia for the fans. In other cases, it was for fan-pressure but the SS fandom couldn't care less about Seiya's heterosexual love life, neither Kurumada. For some reason, Toei fucking loves Seiya/Saori and they were pushed as almost official couple while Miho got only a fucking cameo on the infamous Elyssium and before a cameo on the opening of Chapter Sanctuary (Yamauchi fucking lvoes Seiya/Saori).
