The straightforwardness of the situations in the manga lend themselves to the kind of masochistic pleasure and regret for a sexually-unfulfilled youth that you are talking about, but at the same time the events are so hilarious and cruel and the hyper-detailed reactions so ridiculous and so much more befitting a horror manga that it balances things out.
Really a clever blend that allows the series to have some longevity beyond the initial prison arc.

I don't understand how Prison School could be so good when all I expected from it was T&A. It actually has a strong plot behind its sensual comedy, and the characterization is top-notch. The psychology of the characters, especially Hana, for example, simply floods me with nostalgia because the more she tries to impose hatred toward Kiyoshi, the more she actually falls for him as both of them grope (literally and figuratively) toward maturity.
Sure, I have my preferences, but I think that Prison School is a modern-day masterpiece. It has a great balance between being comic and being serious, and I love it a lot.
