Vol 5 was so great. I'd just love to see the flugel race animated. With the anime basically being a 1:1 adaptation except the last 3 minutes of the last episode they had plenty of material for a second season. They easily have enough for 24 episodes now. I think it's honestly the most faithful adaptation I've ever seen.

MadHouse studio is widely known for refusing to do 2nd seasons. It is owned by a media network that seems to prefer making money from new show franchises rather than trying to continue making additional anime to boost an already existing franchise. Please remember that a single cour is not necessarily the same thing as a season. In the past, Madhouse had had one season take place across split cours, multiple cours, or even as many as four cours.
