I would say Okabe. 15 YEARS
>>

Beta worldline Okabe had a shitty life, but I don't see how it could be worse than Homura's.

Most estimates put it between 10 and 40 years long. So while his loop was the least tragic, he's probably been in one for the longest.

>10000 different worlds

If only it was just 10,000. It was a minimum of 10,031 loops of every world from Black World - Alpha - Beta - Between the Connected Paths before he reached Othinus and gets killed by her. One of those worlds was him being a vegetable and waiting to die on a hospital bed. Imagine the boredom.

>Just to say those few sentences, he had wandered the pitch black world, traversed seemingly infinite worlds, and experienced countless forms of pain, fear, and despair.
>These were true hells with a density great enough to drive any normal person insane before they could overcome even one. And reaching this point did not release him from it. After saying nothing more than that, he was smashed by Othinus and forced to repeat all of the infinite apocalypses he had finally overcome.

The answer is when Higu really shines, so if you already read Questions, then it's definitely worth it. The anime is good, but I'd recommend you to read the novels, those are much better.

Also, be sure to read Umineko afterwards, it's also one hell of a ride, and really <Good>.

I don't know. He pretty much broke down on the world where his friends were happy without him, and that's basically the loop that Homu was forced into.

I mean I know the series is overrated but going back in time again and again trying to save your planet and the rest of the universe, then giving up after that realizing the only way to salvage anything is to effectively destroy/exile your planet has got to be tough.

Also the guy from The Butterfly Effect had it kinda though too.

Technically he only goes through it once physically but he still 'remembers' every other possibility his mind has been through before.

And even if he succeeds he still has to play through two fucked up murdergames.

Selective amnesia. He basically cut and pasted all the relevant memories he needs to get to Othinus multiple times to finish his fight. I would like to think all those repeated memory wipes he's gotten over the years gave him quasi-control over his memories, similar to how he developed his pre-cog.

He did have to reject a perfect world where everybody was happy in order to return and that want even the end or beginning of it. Before that he suffered world's solely made to make him suffer and after that he had to fight and die 10031 times before he still got killed in the end and only got back due to what more or less amounted to mutual mind break.

Same Touma. He's get tortured/mind-broken in various ways over a course of 'really fucking long time' in NT. It's kinda surreal.
>>
>>
>>139302449
There's no telling how long he was stuck for, but it was long enough to master the piano, learn about almost every resident in town on a first name basis, and several other things I'm forgetting. And that's not counting all the times he just spent the day fucking around or killing himself. However long it was, it was quite a little while.
>>
>>139302213
There is a clear time loop in his consistency. He's left handed until he stops being, he wanted to reform until he forgot, he learns to do ki attacks until he doesn't anymore, he cares about people who in theory don't see him for years but act as if it had been a couple of months when he goes back. The only way to make Shamo work would had been giving it a final arc in which it's revealed that each arc was a different universe and they all have to fight each other.

Nigga, Rika was looping for approximately 100 years. Given that the loops began to gradually get shorter and shorter as Hanyuu's powers weakened, that means in the latter half she wasn't even able to enjoy the happier early years anymore and was basically exclusively looping back to the points where shit started crumbling down. Having to watch Satoko get abused by her uncle for untold numbers of loops is bad enough, then factor in all the other shit she went through to the point where she was completely desensitized to it by the end.

From worst to not so bad:

Rikka > Okabe > Homura > Nagato > Watashi

The pic is seriously missing Archer though, he never even got out of it, just had to accept his fate.
Nagato's was the longest but barely enough for her to even obtain feelings as a robutt. Watashi was basically introspection, not even meant as a "punishment", it just fixed his life.

Although, what exactly do you say to them when they get here? Keep it up so you can witness your friend die several hundred more times? Don't give up, you didn't mean to kill your best friend! It's only a flesh wound, you can totally survive a knife stabbed into your head.

And with no way to tell how long he's been walking for before the series started, and no discernible end in sight, with every day growing more difficult and painful. His story becomes all the more depressing when you realize he's been capable of feelings and emotions the whole time, he's just been dragged though the grinder for so long that it doesn't show on the surface anymore. The death of his only friend was the only thing painful enough to shake that residual stoicism accrued from countless millennia of suffering. And then the journey continues, as it always has.

I know the bar in Death Parade was specifically some kind of purgatory/afterlife judgment arena, but I'm now imagining one of the areas we didn't see in the series (run by someone who's not Decim or Ginji) has become a hangout for time loopers. It probably started as a sort of 'reboot' zone for the loopers who do actually die between loops, but over time word got out to others in similar predicaments and just became a sort of general hangout/chill zone where they can go to drown their sorrows.

That's wrong. Convergence ensured no matter what Okabe did, Suzuha would always go back in time, starting the cycle all over again. I'm not entirely sure about Homura, but it seemed like she wasn't in direct control of the time loop and everything restarted automatically every time she failed.

I'm pretty sure there was an Okabe from the future who made plans and shit for the present one, so there is at least the possibility of him living out the rest of his life without Tutturu or Kurisu. Homura clearly activates hers on her own every time except the first.

What's more, they're both directly responsible for their time loops, to the point of asking for them directly. Nagato just woke up and found herself in one because some god bitch wasn't having enough fun and the entire thing was completely pointless.

If Okabe just gave up on Mayuri and stayed on the Alpha Attractor Field, they would be abducted by SERN, Kurisu would be separated from him and forced to work on the time machine, and he would die in 2025. Him giving up on Kurisu is what Zero is all about, and that leads to is more suffering. In both Attractor Fields Suzuha goes back from 2036 and causes the whole thing to restart again, so in both cases him giving up would do nothing but extend the time loop.
