Can't wait for Kabaneri's OST, he didn't compose a full OST since Nanatsu no Taizai. He did the OP, the ED for OnS and his participation to the soundtrack was instrumental remixes of the OP/ED and a few other tracks.

Sony forced him to change his music style to appeal more to the teenage hype kid demographic and marry him up with vocal tie-up artists they want to push like Aimer, Egoist and Mika Kobayashi. He actually used to be pretty decent with a lot more variety and focus on instrumentals before he just became a marketing tool. He's also pretty much a black hole as far as anime music is along with his Sony Music contemporary Yuki Kajiura because now almost nobody talks about anyone elses music and both utterly dominate the conversation on composers in the scene. Apparently just nobody else matters anymore. That said the Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans OST just became the first to sell out on Amazon since his Unicorn ones so it's mainly a Western thing.

Cause Bandai was probably just like "No you have to make this good and fit our franchise" while the other people he makes music for which is probably Aniplex now probably just said who gives a fuck he'll sell anyway. Also as >>139258315 pointed out Unicorn was made before he changed his whole schtick to the NZK thing and started to push the vocal tracks for Sony Music Artists more and more. Yeah there's some vocal tracks in Unicorn like Re:I:AM but they aren't fucking everywhere and mainly used for credits or montage scenes with little dialogue as you'd expect, not played over scenes with dialogue in them such that it often drowns them out.

I mean Akagami no Shirayukihime's soundtrack got released this week and it's fucking phenomenal yet nobody talks about it. It's so relaxing and the woodwork in particular is some fantastic stuff. Sawano's music in comparison just kind of sounds like noise to me lately.

REMIND YOU is the most impressive medley I've heard out of an anime.
All those motifs strung together in the same harmony with brilliant variation, but you can only appreciate it after hearing Volume 1.
