>Ace of Diamond S2 - 51
So, can I read the Act II now?
I'm gonna miss this show, Every Monday I watched this beautiful show of Eijun growing and it's fucking ending without even seeing them go to nationals animated.
How do I fill this void, When the fuck is the next 100+ sports show.Raichi best boy.
>>139230784
Yes.
No S3 announcement yet?
I was tearing up during the whole episode.
It's a shame it didn't get more popular on /a/
IMO the best sports anime of the decade
I'm sad, at least I can still read the manga
Really enjoyed this run, i hope there's a new season soon.
Why did this episode felt so short?
My tears aren't stopping JESUS FUCK.
KOSHIEN KOSHIEN KOSHIEN KOSHIEN
Truly the best sports anime in recent years. I hope they'll animate Act II once the manga comes along far enough.
;_;
I don't want it to end. Hold me /a/.
>Ride of the Valkyries starts playing
>can only think of unconditional slaughter
Thanks, GATE.
Was this show popular?
I watched every episode but I rarely saw any discussion about it. So I figured it might as well be my own treat.
>>139236831
Poor mans 'Ride of the Valkyries', they should have gone with Gustav Holst's 'Mars' or 'Jupiter' if they wanted free overused songs.
Regardless I'm gonna miss this show.
Yamerroooooooooooo
Was that last bit anime original? I was pretty much expecting Seido would have to play without Miyuki in nationals and end up losing to parallel Inashiro.
I don't think I liked as much as the first season, but it was still very enjoyable. Looking forward to another season.
always hype.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RAG5VzMJZQ
So, no chance of a third season then? Or are they just taking a break?
When they lost during regionals in S1 I got so angry I had to turn off every electronic device in my house, then paced around the hallways stifling tears of frustration. When that wasn't enough to calm me down, I went out at 3am and walked aimlessly until the sun rose. Even then I still couldn't calm down, so I wandered back to my house and laid down in bed until the anger turned into a hollow emptiness, like death of the soul, and finally fell asleep.
I didn't watch a single episode after.
Fuck this anime.
>>139237510
She's stalking him, right?
Reminder that you can pick up Act 2 now
I'll make a thread every Wednesday when the chapter comes out, hope it will get at least10replies
I cried.
Wait... So was this all just a 100+ episode ad for Mizuno?
>>139237424
Anime caught up with manga chapters. Just like Fairy Tail.
A break is nice in a while so there's less QUALITY and panning shots.
>>139233888
Yakushi vs Seido is the only time in a sports series where I genuinely wanted both teams to win.
>>139237586
Is the translation up to day?
>>139237850
Yes, we get a new chapter every week, just like One Piece and other shonen stuff. The translator is a huge DnA fag
>>139237568
Eijun you dense motherfucker
Any other good sport anime I should check out?
I need to something to replace the gaping hole...
Yakushi a best.
Inashiro a shit.
>>139237586
Please do i'll catch up!
>>139237259
It has it's fans, but not really here on /a/ sadly. Threads always died fast.
>>139232797
That's because there were not one, but two montages.
The Prince of Stride thread suddenly reached the bump limited before I realized and died. I wanted to post more. No sports anime to enjoy any more.
>>139238148
Don't worry, soon there will be Bakuon, Yuri on Ice, and pic related
Also, Cheers Boys if you're into that kind of stuff
>>139238282
How many dicks do I have to suck to get more One Outs?
The manga got crazy where the anime left off.
>>139238282
I just want more Baseball.

No sports anime next season though
>>139238695
iirc the anime bombed in sales, we're lucky there's a manga
>>139238968
There's that Teekyu spinoff.
>>139237318
Its 1:1 adaptation, including the montages.
Reminder that this is the last baseball anime adaptation of the year, including Battery that is more focused on the battery pair than the team itself.
>>139239016
>sports with girls
>Teekyu
Meh
>>139238968
Looks kinda gay
>>139239016
Somehow I doubt they will be playing any sports.
>>139239146
I'm looking forward to it, it's by the Haikyuu animator and it looks comfy
There was this Baseball manga with some Monster Catcher or something that started some time ago. The two main guys met under a bridge first i think. Anyone know it?
>>139239322
Buddy Strike, it got axed after ~10 chapters. Bad timing to start a sports manga in Jump I guess, I liked it a lot though
>>139239396
>it got axed
fuck
>>139237259
It has livestream threads last year which was quite a blast.
>>139237424
The anime is adapting 2.5 - 4 chapters every episode. Act II currently 28 chapters that is published weekly. So we'll have to wait 2-4 years for S3hopefully.
>>139238968
>Fall
It pains me to have no baseball to look forward to every week.
>>139239536

Chris best boy.
>>139239563
Summer actually. Fall has HQ and All Out
How's Baby Steps?
>>139240091
It's alright, but i missed the hype from team sports.
>>139231794
In a world where Haikyuu didn't exist maybe.
>>139239644
Not baseball. Also Shiratorizawa Arc might be the weakest arc in Haikyuu. It felt like the author was stretching it out, dragging it out for too long so I dropped it mid-way. Hopefully All Out will cater to the sports audience and not the fujo ones.
>>139240091
It's pretty good watching him start from nothing and slowly working his way but what >>139240212 said, It's not the same when it's one person it is 10 times better with a team.
>>139240353
DnA had better characters for me personally but they're both great so it's gravy.
I just pray to god the nationals gets animated man.
>>139240474
Don't get your hopes up
>>139240353
Haikyuu is pretty good considering it's about the second most boring sport in existence.
As fucking usual the anime ends before KOUSHIEN. Not allowed to animate it muh sacred koushien. Stupid japs
Give us season 3 of Oofuri for fucks sake!
>>139240629
At least they were actually standing in the Koushien ground and roaring to go.

Also, this is the first baseball anime/manga that actually went to Koshien right?
>>139240629
What you want them to do ? they have to wait til there more manga chapters, they will be stupid if they don't continue after there enough chapters to adapt.
>>139239396
>>139239536
Last time I checked Jump raws the catcher was talking how he's a Shinigami or some shit.
Hoped it was given a chance but nope, Jump replaced it with another To-Love-Ru copy.
Sawamura is probably my favorite protagonist in any sports manga. I love how he's so good that he would be the ace on 99% of all teams, but he's always just barely in Furuya's shadow. It's so fun watching him grow as the eternal underdog.
>>139240859
It will be so satisfying when he finally gets his 1.I hope a actually gets it..
>>139240940
Something will have to happen to Furuya. Something bad.
>>139240962
Yeah.. and i don't know if i want that. Best would be if he changes the team or something, but i can't see that at all.
>>139240962
RIP Furuya
>>139237586
I will be there.
>>139240962

>>139241669
>Adachi Mitsuru co-writes Daiya no Ace.
>>139241669

>>139240616
For watching I accept it. Playing it is another matter.
>>139242020
>tfw living in europe where nobody cares about baseball
i wish i had found this sport when i still was in school
Solid final episode that hit the notes it needed to. But a good final doesn't make up for the poor pacing of the show in its middle sections. I still enjoyed it though.
>>139242140
Live baseball is boring as hell though, one match lasts for several hours.
It works in aminus though.
>>139240616
I think the second to last Haikyuu episode was the single best episode of anime this whole season. I also thought it had the best first episode of the fall season last year.
>>139242220
But i kinda like the idea of it being tactical and physical at the same time with possible turnarounds at every ball. Also the field is fucking beautiful.
>>139240537
After two years of watching I can't give up now Anon, He should do a Yakushi spin off they have more than enough interesting characters to garner interest.
>>139242287
Anon that episode is one of the best episodes of all time.
Well, I guess it is time to read manga.
In any case I enjoyed both seasons. As person who never played baseball nor I knew anything about it I loved it. Solid 8/10 for both seasons from me.
>third years graduating
it gets me everytime
>>139242425
>He should do a Yakushi spin off
We need more TODOROKI RAICHI
>>139242533
You can pick up on the rule of the sport, but watching an actual game is nowhere near what we see in these shows. It's way harder to keep track of whats going on when it isn't being explicited explained to you and you don't have zoom-ins, slowmotions and several angles for every play.
Nice to see a thread for this show, even if it is just in honor of the final. No one seems to give a shit about the sports shows throughout the seasons. Anons too busy shitposting in the latest Kyoani thread.
>>139242701
True. More if you are from a country that doesn't have baseball culture. I enjoy watching some game during the season though.
Man these shows also makes me feel kind of sad. I know its just fiction, but I can't help but be inspired by shows such as Daiya no Ace and Haikyuu. These niggas are doing shit with their lifes and what did I do in fucking high school? Fucking shit all.
What other Baseball anime have you guys seen?
I recently watched Cross Game wich was nice, but a bit different. It had good characters though, i liked nearly everyone.
I also saw One Outs and Oofuri wich i both enjoyed. Oofuri is maybe my favourite so far.
Then theres Major wich i somehow have on hold somewhere in s03 right now because i found the MC annoying and the fact that he always starts off at 0 again feels a bit exhausting.
>>139243018
Seen all of those except Major
Oofuri is the best
Speaking of sports shows, has anyone seen the Yowapeda movie pop up somewhere?
>>139240091
its my favourite sports anime, but only because I play tennis and the anime does a good job showing the professional escenarioand i cant continue because i caught up with the translations, fuck
>>139240091
It's a good story of a growing person.
>>139240091
I didn't care much for it. Maybe because it doesn't have the same team aspect that many other sports shows do. Give it a shot and see if you like it.
>>139243424
There is a raw on Nyaa but I think no one subbed it in English. Isn't it just a recap anyway?
>>139243819
Nope, the movie is an original story.
/n/'s been looking for it.
>>139242692
Looks like you made a little mistake. In these parts we just ignore retards like Lelouch and you should do that as well.
>>139244118
Didn't realize.
>>139243819
I'm not seeing it on nyaa.
mfw no more DnA Mondays.
Oofuri S3 pls.
I just wanna see Harucchi animated like this. im also excited about the new first years specially emo catcher and sawamura's battery potential.
>>139244546
Miyuki is off the team now right?
What chapter should I start at after seeing the last episode?
>>139246000
You shouldnt start it all. You should kill yourself.
>>139246000
Act II chapter 1
New chapter comes out on wednesdays
>>139246175
You should learn English
>>139242692
We all need more Raichi, I wish he just stayed as a glorious batter instead of his pitcher malarkey.
>>139245879
only way to find out is to read the new chapters :)
>>139246363
You gonna pick up the manga Lulu?
>>139246193
Cheers anon
>>139246365
>:)
Kill yourself.
Maybe we should make kind of a general sports anime thread from time to time. Besides Haikyuu nothing seems to really get attention.
>>139246686
:D
>>139246890
Meh I just hope manga threads will be more active from now on
Haikyuu is overrated. DnA is easily better.
>>139247498
Why do you think this?
>>139246890
We had some great discussion about character development in a Haikyuu thread a bit over a week ago or so, but sports threads almost always die out. Simply not enough anons interested to keep them going.
>>139247613
Because it's much better overall. Hinata was kind of relatable early but he started becoming annoying with his mentality and stuff. I think he became kind of flanderized over time. There are some great characters and matches but overall DnA is better in that department too.
>>139237568
>>139237510
>>139237920
If she doesn't act soon, the manager might steal him.
>>139237586

Good luck.I'll be there when I catch up.
>>139237586

>Diaya no A
>Baby Steps
>Haikyuu
When are we going to get more sports shows? I really can't get enough of them.
And holy shit I can't believe it's been 2.5 years since DnA started. I loved everything about it, please let there be S3 one day.
>>139248685
And that would be perfect. Who cares about Wakana? She did nothing all these years.
>>139248752
Fuck you, Wakana best girl.
>>139248752
But i'm gayfor girls.
>>139248912
She confessed via mail.
>>139248968
So? She is still a shit. Manager is much better. Sawamura didn't get it anyway.
>>139249045
>>139249045
Why is manager any better?
She didn't do anything. Even worse, she was also secretely dere for Furuya and Miyuki, Wakana at least didn't care about anyone else.
Damn i already like this guy a lot more than Furuya.
>>139248905
Summer 2016, anon.
Though it'll probably focus on drama. Anime is called Battery.
Wait wait wait, I'm reading the manga now, and how is Yakushi in the spring Koshien tournament? Didn't Seido beat them to take the spot?
I can't even tell the two girls apart ever since the childhood friend started growing her hair out.
>>139249424
That's how nationals work, 2-3 teams get to nationals if it's a big city
>>139249637
Did they mention this like at all in the show?
>>139249637
I think you need to be invited first
>>139249758
Pretty sure they didn't
>>139249758
Its mentioned in the manga at a later point than the point that the show covered.
>>139230660
Oh man, finally. I loved S1 but I stopped watching midway for some reason. TIme to rewatch and marathon the entire series.
I enjoyed the anime, but I feel baseball is just too dominated by the pitcher position. That one guy has way too much power to decide matches.
>>139243018
All of those.
Watch Touch. Touch is good.
>>139230660
Huh, it ended already? As in, they adapted the whole manga?
>>139240353
Haikyuu is literal garbage.
>>139249758
Theres this
>>139252244
Damn, that looks impressive. Do you perhaps have a source for that real life part?
>>139253256
I just found the page between the chapters of act2 but actually theres a wiki article about japanese high school baseball:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_school_baseball_in_Japan
>>139237259
>Was this show popular?
Extremely. /a/ is just full of people that don't care about sports unless they have superpowers or blatant fujobait/ecchi so it's really hard to have a discussion here.
>>139240091
It's great, no doubt. Anime is meh in terms of animation so I really recommend the manga but the characters are respected so it's ok.
What I like the most about it is the fact that despite being 80% tennis the rest of it DOES have an impact in the story, MC actually grows as a character outside of the sport and other relevant characters too. Which is very rare in most sports manga, one of my main gripes with DnA is that the characters exist only when playing baseball, sure they are likeable but It would be nice seeing more of them as actual human beans. I feel like the manga would be more complete that way.
So if you feel like it go for it, Maruo carries the story really well and he grows A LOT.
>>139231747
well, there's not enough material for now, I guess
>>139248752
You have a hole board to circlejerk over your sexual preferences and fantasies, why don't you go back there?
>>139253446
>What I like the most about it is the fact that despite being 80% tennis the rest of it DOES have an impact in the story, MC actually grows as a character outside of the sport and other relevant characters too.
Huh now that you mention it I always thought something was missing in sports manga and I always enjoyed the moments when they weren't playing the game because it shows another side to the characters.
>>139231747
>>139253727
There will be in a year or two If it's still profitable I suppose. I think Madhouse rushed this second season too much, they should've waited at least one whole season before starting.
>>139253731
They're like /u/ shitters.
>>139253446
Babby Steps and YowaPeda threads were comfy as hell, I think DnA only didn't get as much attention because of how long it ended up being. I didn't watch Kurokok for some reason and Haikyuu was already popular among fujos before the show so those threads were to be expected.
I really took for granted having such a great show to watch every sunday/monday for the past while. It's been a great two and a half years guys.
>>139255130
Pick up the manga if you don't want it to be over, we get a chapter every week
Or wait for S3 in 3 years
>>139253446
>What I like the most about it is the fact that despite being 80% tennis the rest of it DOES have an impact in the story, MC actually grows as a character outside of the sport and other relevant characters too. Which is very rare in most sports manga,
That's maybe the reason why I dropped Haikyuu in the first place, the characters seemed to stopped being high school students and just turned into full-time volleyball players.
It's also the reason why Oofuri on the top of my list as it perfectly balances the characters' interaction as to them being a normal student and having baseball as their club activity.
A ports genre series with the plot only focusing to the sport itself is good and all, but some SoL is nice once in a while.
>>139248905
There is Battery (Baseball), Yuri on Ice (Ice Skating), and other niche "sports" that was announced in Anime Japan 2016 a couple of days ago. Though Battery focuses primarily on the pitcher and a catcher that will tone-down the pitcher's edge.

>>139246419
Nah for these type of shows I need it to be animated full of VA's and hype music, This is why I barely read manga it just doesn't feel the same.
You can't feel the intensity in a match by reading it, If it's been like 3 years and no hope of any more I guess I will.
It looks pretty grim for sport shows, The Rugby one MIGHT be cool and theres the two bros starting a baseball(?) team together. I don't know if any more is announced.
>>139255556
>>139255589
that's too bad
does Sawamura at least start to git gud? because i'm sick of Furuya always getting the good praise. I know he's supposed to be a rival, but damn he feels unbeatable.
>>139255749
He gets better, i'd even say good but he'sstill not the ace.
>>139255730

I get what you mean, I don't think I'd enjoy DnA and Haikyuu as much if it wasn't for their soundtracks.
>>139255918
He looks so young, i thought he's 10 or something.
Oh man, poor Eijun
I guess I can catch up now. I can't even remember what episode I stopped on. Although I know it was before they lost the 'big' game of season 1.
I can't stop listening to the full version of the OP. It was so great. This was such a perfect end to the season. This was the first time I'd cried in a long time. Based Sawamura. Based Madhouse.

I wouldn't mind Furuya if he didn't have such a shit-tier personality.
he has no fire, no passion. he's just bland with his only motivation being "m-muh mound"
