Kyoto is a really neat city. I stayed in a hostel nearby that view in the lower left. Akagami no Shirayuki is airing now and is pretty good. Almost reminiscent of old Disney stuff (before it turned to shit).
I also really like Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii, but the anime was kind of just an alright adaptation (I still enjoyed it) and the manga translations are horrible, so you're fucked if you can't read moon.

I used to live in Ibaraki, now Shinjuku. Pretty big difference so I've experienced both inaka and city life. At bars, I get the same "Teach me!" stuff and it's like, huh. I guess it's an icebreaker, but I don't like that being my defining characteristic.
