>mfw shitty CGI
>mfw shitty staff
>mfw project could be funded by a poor african kid
>B-but the OST will be good, and I don't mind the CGI. I'm just happy to get Berserk!
>>139158075
I'll wait to see the first episode before I judge the CG. They'll have likely changed up the rendering pipeline to make it look less shitty.
Happy to finally see Farny animated at the very least.
Never pictured pink in her armor's color palette though.
>>139158593
I think its purple due to importance that colour had in the past.
>>139158593
She looks like a RPG npc.
I just finished reading Berserk and I was wondering, what is the deal with Griffith's relationship with Casca, if there is a deal at all? Why did he dream of her being his wife when he was injured? Why did he throw himself on top of her when he was injured? Why did he save her when Guts was fighting Zodd? I assumed he only raped her to spite Guts, but was there more to it than that? He seems like he wouldn't care about her, and I'm inclined to believe he doesn't, but I was wondering what others thought.
Also, this was an extremely satisfying moment.
>>139158637
I could buy that.
The CGI looks weird but I expected much worse. I'm going to watch it anyway.
>>139158075
Honestly the preview has got me a little excited. The CG isn't great but I think the shading hides it pretty well. And that fucking insert song, man.
>>139158760
>Why did he dream of her being his wife when he was injured?
because he literally just lost everything and wanted to settle for the runner-up prize i.e. casca
>Why did he throw himself on top of her when he was injured?
sexual frustration, feelings of inadequacy, he just saw that guts and casca are in a relationship and desperately wanted to have her out of jealousy
>>139158760
He did care and have feelings for her, but I think that he hated Guts so much that he just stopped giving a fuck.
>>139158593
Probably, Purple is heavily associated with the Papacy, Catholicism in general and royalty. This stretches back to ancient Rome where purple dyes were pricey so the purple robes became a sign of extreme power and were, I believe, only permitted to be worn by the Emperor at times.
Usually the purple is a bit darker or deeper but this does the job.
>>139158075
Yeah wait till you see how shitty the adaptation is.
It might just be because my standards were lower than bedrock from the first trailer, but the CG and more importantly the framerate seems to be pretty passable. The framerate is not smooth, but it's consistent instead of choppy.
Plus it's doing the FFT War of Lions cutscene pencil shading effect which always gets me going.
>MFW iactually like well done CGI in anime.
>>139159203
>well done CGI
>CGI in anime
Pick one.
>>139158760
>Why did he dream of her being his wife when he was injured?
I think that was Griffith's vision of a possible future living as a cripple. Being taken care of by Casca after the Hawks disbanded. Ironically, the idea of having to accept a peaceful and completely ordinary life seems like the last straw for him.
The relationship with Casca as a whole can be read a lot of ways. But I read into the idea that he felt that he owned her. He valued her worth as a loyal soldier, but would never be able to love her beyond that. But when Casca shows that she's moved on and found affection with Guts after Griffith lost everything? He wouldn't accept it.
On top of everything else, the idea that the two people who were most devoted to him were now pitying him and moving beyond him was something that drove him over the edge.
Would you accept a Fafner or MJP level cg anime?
I fucking hate cockfags like you op. Whine about shit never getting animated and when they finally do bitch because it's not good enough.
Never mind that this is renewed interest in a series that isn't finished, and that maybe, just maybe it'll give idolmaster#1fan incentive to write more then 3 chapters a year.
Seriously stop being a pussyfaggot and enjoy it. Or don't. Either way go wash your mouth out with a shotgun
>>139158593
they look like your average JRPG #1551231564156123 NPC
>>139159233
When anime has well done cgi models with good texturing, and used mostly for background, fight scenes, then it looks much better than drawn oneNot counting high budget animations.
For example compare fight scenes in Code Geass to Fight scenes in Aldnoah Zero. Both models, and movement looks much better in AZ, and ofc there is like 7? years between them, but still. SOme CGI isnt bad, if done correctly.
>>139159233
Was the Gantz ball CGI? I think that looked alright.
Granted the CGI alien in the same show didn't look great.
>>139159381
>>139159233
Anything with Orange CG tends to look pretty good.
>>139159336
>Berserk fans should be grateful that they are getting a new anime, even if it's absolute shit!
Kill yourself.
>>139159522
Based Orengi always delivers
>>139159233
Abrupt mecha fight aside, I thought Gankutuou had some great visuals.
Is there a new PV?

You don't even know if it's shit yet. You've seen a totally of Under what 2 min of footage. But yeah you can totally make a judgement.
God please go eat some rat poison faggot
>>139160013
Thanks. It looks okay, although it really does seem a whole lot like an RPG with that music.
Can't say I'm too bothered by the CGI. It's not uncanny valley territoryyet.
>>139160104
Majestic Prince deserved better. ;_;
>>139160013
Holy shiiiit, this looks atrocius.
Why? Just WHY?
Fuck, MAPPA should've gotten Berserk;_;
>>139160013
>that music
I don't give a fuck anymore, they brought in my boy Hirasawa and it's already a 9/10 in my book.
>>139160476
Isn't he only back for like one or two songs?
>>139160104
A fucking movie!
>>139160621
Well you just brought it back down to a CGI ridden 3/10, t-thanks anon
Life is sour. Seriously, WHY the fuck has everything Berserk been CGI (apart from the 1997 anime)? Are the japs scared of making a hand-drawn adaptation of such a highly detailed manga?
>>139159522
CG fails for humans because the shapes and movements are natural whereas CG animation without rotoscoping/motion tracking is a lot more robotic. You can't compare mecha anime to Berserk.
>>139161475
There isn't a large demand for a Berserk anime, so every Berserk project has only had funds that could afford CGI. I have no idea why they just don't wait until the manga finishes, then have a studio like Madhouse adapt it in a long OVA series. It would be incredibly profitable. However, when they keep making these garbage CGI Berserk adaptations, the less chance we have of actually getting something good.
>>139161765
not as profitable as cute girls doing cute things
>>139161765
I'd be happy with 2D animation at the same budget of the 97 anime, but alas, I'm not holding my breath.
>>139160621
Damn
I was almost excited, despite the CGI
Where is the anime starting at?
>>139160013
What's the song's name?
>>139163768
It looks like they'll show how Guts met Puck,
So I'd guess we'll get at least a bit of the Black Swordsman arc.
>>139160476
No Berserk adaption has ever played Forces in its entirety.
>>139159080
A darker purple would even look much cooler, I think. I guess they chose a lighter tone because a darker one would look worse with the CGI, due to lacking contrast if it had been darker.
>>139164152
Is that why the films white washed Casca?
>>139158075
>B-but the OST will be good, and I don't mind the CGI. I'm just happy to get Berserk!
Well, I am. It's not like I'm paying for it. The CGI was bad in the movies but I still loved them, and the CGI here is way better here than it was there so I don't have much to complain about.
>>139164379
Pretty much. The Mangas perfect as it is and I'm not thirsty for any kind of adaptation. More Hirasawa and Sagisu makes this worth it for me. As well as just the fanservice aspect.
>>139164262
More like the anime black-washed her. To be honest, I don't think Miura knows how dark she's supposed to be either. There's a bunch of variance if you google her. Sometimes she's actually white, and occasionally she's pretty black. But most of the time she's middle-of-the-road.
>>139164640
Guess I'm just more attached to the 1997 version.
>>139164894
If that's how you got into Berserk then it makes sense. Also, seems like she was pretty chocolate during the Ballroom scene. Maybe she was lighter the rest of the time as a result of outdoor lighting or something.
>>139164894
i know it gets a bad rap for it being a slideshow, but damn the 97' series looked fantastic for such a small budget.
i wonder what a budget like that would look like today.
>>139165058
>>139165058
It was a damn pretty slideshow.
>>139165058
Such a legendary, influentiak series that will never end nor get adapted to anime properly.
>>139165156
the colour palette and art was stellar save for the actual animation being sub-par
I hate how all the recent stuff has all these really bright and light colours, where's the actual GRIT
>>139165156
yea it gets the job done, I watched it in a livestream a while back and it looks pretty but the fight scenes are pretty weak. But honestly can anyone make Berserk action scenes look great?
>>139165251
>One of the biggest contributors to dark fantasy
>Has actually influenced some games and other works of fiction
>Author doesn't care about the project
I will never not be irritated by this
>>139165291
Something about modern Berserk marketing that I find very disconcerting.
>>139165156
wow the visuals really fit the atmosphere well
>>139158075
>B-but the OST will be good, and I don't mind the CGI. I'm just happy to get Berserk!
Who are you quoting?
>>139165384
>Lanklet Griffith sipping a beverage
>/fit/fag Guts bulking on the burger
fuck I'm hungry
>>139165291
>>139165384
I get that the anime industry has to subsist on additional marketing and the like, but it's so out of place here.
>>139165453
The music didn't hurt either.
>>139165840
People still wank about Hirasawas circus music?
The one upside to CGI is that I can SVP it and it looks great.
>>139165917
I never stopped.
>>139160013
>pencil shading filter
The fact that they were going CGI already showed how stupidly off base they were, this is just icing on the cake.
>>139166094
they're still stuck at the same level as the first damn appleseed movie, just smoother colours
>>139160013
Honestly? I still prefer the 97 series' look, but the new style could be worse.
I'm more concerned about the rest of the content. The pacing, the atmosphere, the overall tone, etc. That's where the movies fell flat for me, because they were just trying to abridge the source material rather than take the time to really flesh anything out and let it stand on its own merits.
>>139165917
I still like him, but they should really get the guy who composed the Bloodborne music
>>139166715
When I read berserk I'm listening to either Hirasawa or the Bloodborne OST. It just fits so well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RzA_Oomra8
>>139166715
>Bloodborne OST
I wouldn't hate this.
>>139165032
>GutsxCasca dance
A bit early in their relationship to totally fit, but it was a cute scene.
>>139167005
Really suprised mozgus wasn't shown in the PV or listed as the main cast considering his role
>>139158075
>mfw Nietzsche quote
>mfw finally seeing something other than Golden Age arc animated
>mfw the music will be bretty gud
>mfw these are some of the coolest arcs we're up to
>mfw the blend of CG and 2D in the third movie was actually bretty decent
>mfw this is 1000x better than nothing
>>139170237
I don't know whether I should get my hopes up for Lost Children or if they'll skip it to get to Conviction.
>>139170665
I think they're going to adapt Lost Children because it serves for the audience to familiarize (again) with Guts' rage and revenge-fueled mindset.
The Conviction arc represents the biggest change on Guts' since the eclipse so they can't go into it that fast.
>>139165917
>>139158760
>Why did he throw himself on top of her when he was injured
Because he was attempting to rape her but was too crippled to do it. Same reason he tries to grab Guts neck when he first rescues him
>>139165840
>>139165291
>>139165384
>>139165840
I need more
>>139165840
Why
>>139171325
Because Griffith always wanted to tap dat sweet chocolate ass.
>>139165840
Griffith's probably checking out a speedo-wearing Guts.
>>139171808
I would too.
>>139165840
>>139171808
More accurate.
>>139169824
Hope whoever they get has fun with the role, going from convincingly mellow to over the top menacing every other line.
>>139170237
I'm getting real sick of all the faggots complaining. Do they honestly want another slideshow like the '97 anime? Because I sure as fuck don't. Not to mention the CG in this looks way better than the movies anyway.
I'll have to see more of how all that sketching looks in motion but that could look pretty good too.
>>139170665
Isn't he wearing the Lost Children arc armor?
>>139173465
Probably. Still possible that they move right ahead to where Farnese and company catches up to him.
>>139173398
>Not to mention the CG in this looks way better than the movies anyway.
I'm not defending the movie CG, but this looks worse.
>>139159381
>For example compare fight scenes in Code Geass to Fight scenes in Aldnoah Zero. Both models, and movement looks much better in AZ,
Nope, the Code Geass OVA was much better than anything in AZ as far as CGI goes.
>>139159068
No, he liked Guts more than anyone. Felt frustration when Guts left and realized Casca was with him too during the rescue.
