Brightness and color temperature seem to just lower the intensity of the white. It doesn't actually make it grey, sadly.
I'm pretty unknowledgeable when it comes to computer stuff, though. Maybe there's a solution I'm not thinking of.

Not only is reading flux-orange manga slightly straining, but I find it even more unpleasant than inverted manga.
The orange from flux affects the black of manga, which contributes to both of these things.
