What's the oldest show you've watched in its entirety? Did you enjoy it?
neon genesis evangelion =`)
>>139063744
72, yes.
>>139063744
Mobile Suit Gundam.
I'll eventually watch Harlock or Galaxy Express, currently working on Space Adventure Cobra.
>sailor moon (1992)
(^:
>>139063744
Gunbuster. It went from decent in the first episode to pretty great by the ending.
I'm going to go back and watch Speed Racer once the subbed version finally gets released, since I remember liking the episodes I saw when I was a kid, but the dub is pretty hard to get through now.
>>139063744
Gatchaman. It was good I guess. I can certainly see how influential it was.
Gundam 0079 or Rose of Versailles and they were both great, I really need to watch some more classics
Oldest movie I've seen is The Flying Ghost Ship and that was a fun experience
>>139063744
Ace wo Nerae
I have to admit, I only did it to understand the references in Gunbuster, but I ended up enjoying it so it's all cool.
>>139063744
>entirety
Probably the original GiTS movie, that was my gateway into anime.
Yea, I'm a casual.
>>139063744
Lupin III
Yes it's the best.
>>139064284
>only Gunbuster
Don't you mean EVERY Gainax production ever?
>>139064604
You're just talking about Part 2, right?
S L A Y E R S.
Not even kidding, fucking loved it. I think if I went even 5 years before Slayers the animation would be too stilted or reused, like in the original Macross or Gundams.
Violinist of Hamelin.
It was a better slideshow than monogatari, would watch again.
>>139063895
>>139064040
>>139064781
>muh animation
>>139063744
Kimba, or at least I think I watched all of it as a kid. I enjoyed it.
Combattler V
Its one of my favorite mecha. First half is legitimate 10/10 but the second half was pretty bad compared to it.
I still like it more than Voltes V though.
What's the earliest anime worth watching?
>>139065251
Uchuu Senkan Yamato.
Shinzo Ningen Casshan.
Not my favorite from that era, but by no means a bad show at all.
>>139063744
(1970)
I enjoyed it, even if it was a bit slow early on. Second part was better though, imo.
>>139064740
Considering he posted green jacket Lupin I'm guessing no.
And, honestly, the only thing that's better about part 2 is the music. Though I do think Lupin is a nice man.
>>139063744
Yes.
Don't judge me.
>there are "people" on /a/ who have never seen anything released before the 90's
>>139063744
>absolute completion
Evangeion
>most of it
Voltes V

Didn't she literally volunteer?
>>139068723
She just didn't deny it
>>139068476
anything of course, anime specifically however I have not
>>139068774
this is the anime board in a thread asking about anime, why the fuck would you think that post is not refering to anime you dumb faggot
>>139068320
>Don't judge me.
For what?
GIGANTOR THE SPACE AGE ROBOT
>>139063744
Ashita no joe,near masterpiece
Akage no Anne was pretty legit.
1969 the pilot for Lupin, not counting that, 1971 the first season of Lupin.
I watched Sword art Online which was a few years back and it was pretty cool.
ashita no joe, 1970
it's amazing and everyone should watch it
better than ippo
>>139068846
You could've been referring to the fact that most posters here are underage/millennials and therefore haven't experienced anything older than the 90's.
1973 Cutie Honey. Enjoyed it very much. In fact I found it to be the best version of Honey, and I've watched/read most of them.
I also watched green jacket Lupin, which is older, but I just randomly caught it on TV so I don't think I saw all it. I did enjoy the episodes I caught, though.
The Little Mermaid anime. It was nice.
Joe as well.
I could watch some anime from the 60s but raws tend to be more troublesome to obtain.
>>139068320
You and most of Latinoamerica buddy
70s anime era needs more appreciation outside of meme series

Says anon who invalidates his own entire post with one word.
>>139063744
1969, yes, very much so
>>139063744
lets see, either green jacket lupin, tetsujin 28, astro boy, or the original yamato.
pretty certain casshern, gatchaman, and Ashita no joe are later then these.
actually i was wrong, i watched alakazam the great, which is a really old ass take on journey to the west that i didn't realize was that old, i legit thought that was made in the 80's.
>>139063744
Heidi
Another joefag here, didn't expect such an old series to hold up so well. It's a 9/10 in my heart.
>>139072733
I REMEMBER YOU FOREVER!
>>139072799
JOOOOOOOOOEEEEE
Gundam 0079 and it's in my top 10.
I have dabbled in Astro Boy and Gigantor, both subbed and dubbed, but I haven't found the time to finish either of them as they are quite long and I can't easily find all of their episodes.
I've been meaning to watch more 70's shows like Mazinger, Getter Robo, Lupin and Space Captain Harlock but haven't gotten around to it.
>>139063744
It was sort of fun back then, but probably not for the right reasons. I bet it wouldn´t be fun today.
moomin
>>139072689
Astro Boy was the first real TV anime.
But did you really watch it in its entirety or just the episodes shown in the US?
I watched Wings of Honneamise. Yeah I enjoyed it and it was technically good but it's not really my type of anime. I'm not into the space stuff. Aside from Planetes which was pretty good.
Fist of the North Star
>>139063744
>>139064604
This
>>139063744
>Manga
Some Meiji era gag comedy which i don't remember it's plot.
>Anime
Somehting from Noburo Ofiji, i guess. As tv show, i think it was Kamui.
>>139063744
Conan the future boy
>>139075947
Ashita no Joe 1971
It is the best anime I have seen.
>>139075947
Every thread.
>>139063744
The Stardust Crusaders OVA from the 90's. It was alright, the fight with DIO was better imo
>>139063744
Im currently watching Ashita no Joe(1970) and Im having a fucking blast.
Joe is such a unlike-able cunt for the first 23 episodes but I managed to hold on and its getting much better.
I alredy got spoiled what will happen to Joe and Rikishii in thje end but Im still enjoying it

ASHITA NO GOAT is a masterpiece and much better than Ippo confirmed.
Robotech, largely because my father forced me to watch it with him when I was still a kid.
Watched a bit of Urusei Yatsura. It was quite funny but it was quite aged humour so it didn't grip me all that much.
The oldest I've watched to completion though is Evangelion.
>>139080098
>robotech
Fuck off forever, you cunt.
>>139065251
Dororo.
>>139073375
Nah, it's still pretty fun.
>>139080245
I grew up calling it Robotech for nearly two decades now before finding out it was called Macross in Japan you nigger, the english dub will always be Robotech to me.
>>139080109
Honestly, the only thing about the jokes that I feel have aged are the references and even then it's of things that are still remembered today.
>>139080391
Hi grandpa
>>139064284
This
And this >>139068320
Still mad about the cuck ending
>>139068320
They never aired the episodes after Terry left for Murrika in my country, so I had to watch Candy till the end like 15 years later.
>>139080391
>dub
Kill yourself you scum.
>>139081449
>he's only watched anime in the digital era
Ashita no Joe April 1, 1970 – September 29, 1971
Anyone who hasn't seen anything before 1990 should be ashamed
Anyone who hasn't seen anything before 2000 should kill themselves
>>139064284

Same.
just amazing
>>139064001
>Cobra
My man.
>>139079197
True.
The 2015 anime did almost everything else better though.

Sennin Buraku
Oldest I've watched in its entirety is Evangelion, though I've watched some of Urusei Yatsura and about half of Gundam 0079
Marathoned the whole 74 minutes.
>>139087253
>film
>marathon
>>139087779
Sorry, I binge watched all 74 minutes.
>>139080027
It may have something to do with Joe being the oldest TV anime fully subbed in English at the moment.
Dororo will get a subbed release in the US in one month and might take that place.
Either Lupin III or Golgo 13.
>>139064604
>>139072060
>>139076005
How is the 2015 version compared to the original? Which one should I watch?
