The anime overall is fucking awful compared to the manga, but I'd say go ahead and finish it since it has some good parts.

Then again, some scenes in Root A you'd only really properly enjoy if you read the manga (Kaneki's kakuja)

I feel like season 2 dropped the ball in numerous places. the ending pissed me off as well. too many unanswered questions and plot points.
