There's a version of Resurrection F coming out soon that combines the best parts of the film with the arc, so that will be the definitive version, likely.

I know that Super is far from perfect. To be honest, the best it's ever been is a 7/10, and even that's very rare.
But the one thing that makes Super superior to GT is that it tries new things, while sticking to the roots of Dragon Ball, and for this, it's just FUN to watch.
GT was not fun to watch. It was sad seeing my favorite characters, Piccolo and Krillin, being pushed to the sidelines without any purpose other than drama. It was sad to see Krillin in his old age for absolutely no reason. It was sad to Vegeta in such a humiliating get-up. It was sad to see Pan go on the adventure instead of Goten or Bulma or Krillin or Roshi or fucking ANYONE ELSE BUT HER.
It's just got this unpleasantness about it. The overly designed characters, the ugly character designs (SSJ4 Vegeta is quite literally the most unpleasant character design to look at in any work of fiction I've ever seen) the lack of character development. The comedy falls flat, because it makes no attempt to establish character. The main 3 characters are bland as fuck and have no chemistry at all.
In Super, we've had some great character based humour with Whis and Beerus, and the fact that these characters have already become iconic with the fanbase is something very commendable. The story is also much more interesting, and doesn't jump around too much. Some of the twists have caught me by surprise already.
But Super just feels ALIVE. All the characters are in their prime, getting up to crazy antics, everyone besides Yamcha and Tien are relevant (but who cares, they haven't been anything more than family friends for 20 years) and the comedy works better because everyone isn't doing their own thing.
Yeah, Super is pretty crap, but it's just filler anyway. We know how it ends. If anything, we should be thankful we're getting more Dragon Ball shit. GT had standards to live up to because it was a sequel to Z, but this is a midquel of sorts. Toriyama has the right to do whatever stupid shit he wants.

Piccolo fought and kept up with Frost, only losing due to his cheating. In GT, the only "battle" Piccolo got was standing still while Baby Gohan blasted him with a Kamehameha.
Super doesn't have even focus among the cast, but it's nowhere near Goku time. Even something like the RoF arc, with the classic "everyone holding up for Goku to return" couldn't be done by GT, since they feared taking the attention from him. During the Super 17 arc, when Goku was stuck in hell, they still had to give him half of each episode rather than actually focusing on the Earth crew's drama.

The problem with GT was that is was confused with what it wanted to be. It tried to evoke the early comedic dragonball era and was shocked when people stopped watching so it tried to bring back classic DBZ with rehashed villains (A galactic conqueror, an Android, and an omnipotent magical construct beaten by fusions and spirit bombs). Super is alot of the same but not as cyclical as GT was.

They should have just kept to doing a film series. Battle Of Gods and Resurrection F are decent in their own right, but Super itself is shit.

I enjoy every new episode of Super, its still pretty fun and strange and feels like classic Dragonball in a particular way. Animation is shit, but it feels Toriyama.
I didn't enjoy GT even as a child, nothing about it felt like Dragonball, it wasn't right. Even back then I could tell it was shit.
Yet its like 90% of Super threads eventually turn into "GT was way super better". It really wasn't, I think this is just the DBZ way of saying "You're literally Hitler" or "Worse than Hitler". You want to denounce the current bad thing, so you call it the worst thing you can think, in fact you say its even worse than the worst thing you can imagine. Its the new hotness to call this one shit. Its like saying the new star wars sucks, by saying the prequels were a thousand times better.
Star Wars prequels really are still way worse.

In comparison to Super, it certainly looks better. However, the music is just as shit, the plot raises just as many eyebrows, and the pacing is frustrating.
People saying this or Super are better than the other are honestly fooling themselves. They're both pretty mediocre followups to Dragon Ball, with separate merits.
Super is what you watch if you want to see where the original creator takes the story. GT is what you watch if you want to see a story that is made in the same breath, production wise, as the Z anime.
