PRESENT TIME
Mfw I didn't understand Lain and I watched it twice
arisu

You're a fucking liar. Twice is enough.
>>138979164
>Lain
It's spelled "Rain".
>>138979687
get the fuck out
>>138979164
That's normal. It took me 4 times to fully understand it. It's simply that abstruse.Lain is an anthropomorphisation of the internet and Mika represents the pseudo neural network of phone connections

>implying the symbolic commentary of technology is the only layer
>not mentioning literal and thematic interpretations
>>138980873
That's because the most interesting interpretation is the one most people never think of.

But most people start of the the shitz stuff.
And worse than than that the commentary on technology is surface level at best.
The video is pretty cool though.

Most people I've talked to assume the psychological interpretation a.k.a. 'Lain is crazy and she imagined everything', which feels like more of a cop out to me.
The commentary on technology is also a commentary on the final book from the Bible (especially the final 3 episodes), which makes it deeper than most people would first assume.
I made that video, so thanks!

>Most people I've talked to assume the psychological interpretation a.k.a. 'Lain is crazy and she imagined everything',
Ah. Well fuck that. That's a pretty basic interpretation. That said 'most people' love the shit out of the whole, what if the whole series was a coma and the characters are people who visit them or they used to know, shit.
Also yeah I meant to say schitz not shitz. Psych stuff unless it has foundation, like you vid, is largely applicable to anything due to being unable to be proved wrong.
In any case Lain OC is super cool. I heard one autist was writing a paper on his interpretation somewhere on the net. When I finish my thesis I plan on writing up a bit of something for Lain myself.
I wouldn't mind hearing about the revelations parallels though.
Is Lain even supposed to be intelligible? Seems like it's kind of a pastiche of odd artsy vignettes within a framework.
>>138981830
If you think Lain is unintelligible I'd hate to see how you'd process something like Tarkovsky's films.
LET'S... ALL..LOVE..LAIN
>>138982471
Well maybe that's just how smart I am.
