Instead of getting confined to a church, her dad sets her up as acting lord of the dukedom. She sets up a company, and introduces many realistic reforms such as the amazing double bookkeeping system (she's an accountant) as well as introducing some less than realistic products (conveniently there is a large cocoa plantation in the nation and she invents milk chocolate).
Some stuff happens, and she ends up having political, economic and business battles with people in the 2nd Prince's (Edward's) faction.
Some more stuff happens, and the temporary secretary somebody introduces her to is actually the 1st prince, who ends up as the main romantic interest.
Incidentally, Ed's bitch mother killed the 1st prince (and 1st princess') mother, the 1st Queen, because of jealousy and the fact that her standing based on her birth family should actually be higher than the 1st Queen's.
Either way, both children of the 1st Queen went into hiding, while the King ended up completely useless as a result of losing his beloved wife, not even bothering to protect her two children.
As for Iris' two knights, they never end up as love interests. They're just good friend/servants, as of latest raws.

Basically a bunch of cucks. Ah, and Iris' younger brother, Berne, is included amongst them. At first she felt terribly betrayed, but later on she just doesn't really give a shit about him, even when he reforms.
As for the faction in general (i.e. noble families etc.) usually the ones following the Second Prince are people whose families are broke but have good pedigree. They try and get money and benefits out of him.
Considering all these spoilers the LN has been translated for a while? How many volumes are done? Sounds interesting as fuck.

And yeah, it's interesting in that for once, she actually *is* a fusion of two people, as advertised.
For a lot of other reincarnation etc. novels, the 'Japanese person' or 'Dead Expert' just completely overwrites the original person in terms of personality and ego.
I wouldn't say the story is perfect, but it's always good to see stories that challenge themselves to be a bit different. At least the authors are trying.
