Why do you like anime?
What makes you like it?
Why do you post about it on /a/?
i have no friend IRL. I leech off positive or negative stokes from /a/ to sustain my social needs or else i will be crazy
Escapism
>>138914769
Escapism.
>>138914769
Gave me a thing to do and work on and i liked the community around it.
I post on /a/ becuase its the most patrician place of internet.
>>138914899
>i liked the community around it.
>>138914769
Idealizaed females of every stripe. There's really nothing more to it than that.
>>138914769
>Why do you post about it on /a/?
Every anime place outside of /a/ is so weird, every anime watcher is just some patrician old man who only likes mature anime for mature people such as himself, it's horrible. The first two question are stupid though.
>>138914769
I don't know.
Maybe if I keep doing it, I'll find out why.
Why do you like music or movies? Same reason I like taiwanese comics and cartoons. No reason at all
Fun things are fun.
I didn't want to be brainwashed by movies and shitty murrican culture that TV fed me.
I need the cute, colorful smug in my life.
The general absence of that stuff in western contemporary entertainment that airs locallyI'd rather have my intelligence insulted in helium chinese dialect spoken by idealized oriental cartoon women.
Because I like to think I don't have to deal with the subhuman dub-only shitters round these parts.
I don't know. Why does anyone like anything?
>Why do you post about it on /a/?
Yeah, I've been asking myself that one a lot recently too.
Sakurako needs a deep and thorough dicking.
>>138914899
>>138914769
Escapism and having no friends, I've noticed all of my relationships are through the Internet or other artificial means. I'd rather leave this body and become part of the wired like lain but I'm not sure whether to try to live in the real world or just take the Shinkansen short cut. /blogshit
>>138915436
Oh youd rather be brainwashed by japanese culture then?
>>138914769
I watched TV when I was a kid and then I saw tenchi: it was something very different than what's on TV. Then Ijoined an anime club in highschool andwatched Kare Kano; the first episode got me hooked.
/a/ has its cringy moments but it does have some good threads from time to time.
Because it keeps me entertained. Because /a/ is so cancerous, it's fun just to make fun of them.
>>138916050
Impossible
>>138914769
Escapism, little girls, you can't talk about moe anime outside of /a/.
No, you can't talk about anime outside of /a/ at all.
>>138914919
And worse than everything it was the 9gag anime watching community
How else am I supposed to find out who all these people in all these reaction images people post are?
>>138914769
>being on /a/
>liking anime
>>138914769
Konichiwa, OP. Hajimemashite!
I watch anime because it is only one part of my learning Japanese culture before I move there. It is best to know how people act and are expected to act in common media, neh? Nihon ha subarashii kuni desu.
I don't post about it much here, but seeing your inquisitive character I decided to break my lurking and speak. If this isn't the answer you were expecting, gomenasai. Nihonn go wo renshu suru hitsuyou ga arimasu.
Arigato gozaimasu!

The boys
Because anime has a lot of crazy shit, from comfy bubbly colourful shows to 2deep4u psychological thrillers blended with scifi and fuck huge robots. The art is incredibly diverse and I love the aesthetic a lot of the time. I love animation with even some story/substance attached and anime does it best for me.
/a/ is pretty much the place for (almost) unlimited discussion and shitposting where many have different tastes and in the very least decent experience with anime as a whole. Even the most obscure shit can be discussed for a bit and I appreciate that greatly.
It's all great fun.
>>138916532
Reality is better than imagination by leagues.
On the slick i don't even like anime any more after all these years.
It's so bad I'm even watching capeshit like daredevil to entertain myself.
Only nip thing that keeps me here is manga.
>>138916050
>anime
>japanese culture
Trying to learn about Japanese culture from anime is like trying to learn about American culture from a Woody Woodpecker cartoon.
>>138914769
Everyone has their reasons... For me, it's just a mere entertainment.
>Why do you post about it on /a/?
People still do that? Bizarre.
>mfw I can't use my trip for three days
I love you too, God.
>>138916664
Why do you say that? Details, if you please.
I have a lot of adult friends who enjoy the stories and we watch together.
>>138916752
Imagination is a slut doing slut things.
Reality is a shy girl giving her best while pursuing her first love.
>>138914769
Anime is death.
I like seeing my fetishes pandered to
being retarded is normal around here so i feel at home
I like to look at good animation, escapism, and because this medium is limitless compared to live action movies, although its potential will rarely be explored because most of anime is pandering garbage.
>>138914769
I like anime because of the cute girls.
It's good escapism, watching cute girls doing cute things makes me forget about my shitty life for a moment.
Talking about these shows on /a/ makes me feel like I have friends.
>>138914769
I grew up with it since 3-4 years old and it spiced up my life.
Got into mechfaggotry, experienced the whole chuuni teenage life, made lots of friends from it, /cgl/ cancer, etc.
Do you ask yourself why do you like your childhood house where you were raised?
>Why do you post about it on /a/?
Because I've been here for a long time?
Nowadays, most places outside of /a/ is infested with /v/-tier I like muh intelligent animu bullshit.
Either that, or some underage "a-anime is not cartoon you guys! SAO best!" circlejerk
>>138919899
this
>>138914769
>Why do you like anime?
It's entertaining.
>What makes you like it?
The entertainment.
>Why do you post about it on /a/?
I like the discussion speed on /a/. It's quite fast.
>>138919899
Pretty much this.
Its also free.
>>138914769
I honest to god don't like anime, I think it's pure trash nowadays but I still watch spme stuff. /a/ also is an absolute joke now but it's at least better than other anime communities.
>>138914769
>Why do you like anime?
Let's me get some listening to Japanese in while not feeling like work. Also it allows me to escape from reality and talk with my friends about it.
>What makes you like it?
The animation style, the dramatic way most anime is presented, but mainly the cute girls.
>Why do you post about it on /a/?
Because most of my real life friends I talk with anime about think I'm a pretentious dickbag and will barely talk with me about it. Only /a/ understands my love for seasonal shows and how I can't stand normie-tier bullshit.
>>138916282
underrated post
>>138914769
I learn Japanese words (I'm a hafu with a pretty shit vocabulary, my dad makes fun of me for being illiterate) and get anything in the range of escapism or shit I genuinely think is good
I don't know why I post here I'm mostly on /lit/ and I guess I just decided "hey, there's an anime board, why not" as I got into it
>>138923337
>normie
There's an utterly retarded and yet smart copypasta about this on Ylilauta, but I'm too tired to look for & translate it.
>>138923337
We call them "normals" here, /r9k/ friend.
>>138914769
>Why do you like anime?
Cool to have pictures come to life.
>What makes you like it?
Lots of individual shows I like, it's free, being part of a community.
>Why do you post about it on /a/?
You guys are my friends.
>>138926014
>You guys are my friends.
>>138926127
I love you, anon!
>>138916638
This.
It's all fun.
Oh, and some gay stuff happens occasionally but it's all in good spirit.
>>138925880
It's normalfag
>>138926014
>You guys are my friends.
>>138916050
yes
>>138914769
I know you asked about anime but I'll talk about manga instead.
I find manga to be perfect for trying out new music. It's especially made out better for when the manga is actually good as well as the music, since listening/reading one will immediately make me associate it with the other.
I'm also 100% certain that the point when an instrumental track synchronizes perfectly with the manga I'm reading (as in the music fits the mood perfectly) I've had some endorphin releases in my brain.
>>138914769
But I don't like anime. I come here because it's a great place to talk about the few that aren't liquid poop.
I discovered ambient music because of manga...
