Why did this turn to such crap. It was earlier enough for Westerners that it could of had the potential to be a cult classic, but it turned out shit.
Was it the filler? The shitty characters introduced? The nonsense plot? The fact that it dragged on for a million years? That it suffered from the standard Boy x Girl who won't recognize they like each other until the finale?
Looking back, it's just so cheesy but I remember it having potential when it first started.

Even without filler, it dragged on. It never felt like the gang was making any progress and it was always a fucking sword upgrade every arc. Naraku just kept fucking escaping.
It had potential though. Kikyo, Sesshomaru, and Naraku were really good antagonists early on.

Ugh, Kikyo got relegated to a side character so hard, it was disappointing.
I guess the show was appealing with it's mature themes (Kikyo betraying Inu, Naraku manipulating people, the cursed monk, etc) and then it just went all light-hearted endless journey bullshit.
I guess they tried to appeal to adults but kiddied it up which ended up ruining it.
