The plot is reaching a good place to stop in my opinion. Maybe they could have expanded more about the manga industry, introduced more characters or explored even more the side-characters we already have but the story is nice just like it is.

Yassan is the shadow that he left behind the day he was exiled. He can see and hear it in greater clarity because he's at least reunited with it.
It's not really symbolism given that the events seen in the flashbacks actually seemed to have happened.

It seems the girl from the beginning was just a red herring, and the charlatan actually had a prophecy about herself and Rin. Pretty bummed that the story is ending so suddenly but this seems like a natural place for the story to end. Still, I was hoping for another epic saga like Beck.
