It's still weird that nothing's been animated in quite literally 4 years. Atleast with Gintama they keep animating it, just with year-long breaks in between. It's a large commitment. They stopped before the Quincy saga began and it's very lengthy and still going as you said.
They may not be confident in it doing well. Bleach has been doing poorly in Jump and it's likely attributed to fatigue from this arc. It would take a long time to animate and it could go over poorly.
They also really enjoyed making their filler. While they don't have to worry about catching up to the manga anymore, it wouldn't be surprising if they wanted to include more filler arcs as a means to break up the monotony of a really long saga. They really seemed to enjoy adding slice of life into it. That's even more time and development money though.

As long as they don't pull a Toei and start elongating reactions and adding unnecessary animation then the current arc, up to this point, would easily be condensed to ~60 episodes of material. Which is only about a year. Of course it would take time to animate but still it's risky considering Kubo's track record.
The finale will undoubtedly spike the popularity, but it's still selling well in general particularly in volumes.

I still think the reiatsu limits on her powers are weird. Sometimes it's a big point that she can't heal someone, but then someone with high reiatsu inflicts an injury and she heals it without a problem.

I think the reiatsu limit is bollocks, the only time that happened(that i can remember at least) was when Ulquiorra killed Ichigo, she tried to heal him and she couldn't.
But, her fairies told her that her power is linked to her emotional state, so i always assumed that she couldn't heal Ichigo because she was freaking the fuck out, i mean, Ichigo had a hole in her heart and Satan was tearing Ishida apart limb by limb.

Considering her power was literally a shield and insane healing. I'd say that's about as non confrontational as you can get. There's a difference between staying out of trouble and having the power to defend yourself if need be. The latter is always the better option.
