Typically by having a chronic weakness you do not have your shit together. I am not knocking Hikari for being sick by the way, I know about that facet. I have no reason to believe Hackmon will be a villain or interested in spreading the infection, that would go against his character everywhere else. Of course Adventure can make him a villain if the writers want, but I will not assume that with no evidence.

The thing is, we don't know why or how Leomon got infected. That might not have anything to do with "Ken". It could have happened when he fought Ogremon. Meicoomon's aggravated state could have been the thing triggering Leomon.
Also, I believe that Hackmon is the one sending Koushiro messages, and the "act" that he put on with the Ken hologram was just a method training or preparing the Digidestined for something worse out there.
Meicoomon's corruption could be triggered by the distortion. I'm willing to bet that is the case, due to his reactions in the first movie.

This is the key phrase here. Hackmon may not know what Meicoomon is or what he was capable of, all he may know is that Meicoomon seems to be of some serious importance.
