Been meaning to rewatch this, and I'm not doing anything else right now, so I started the download.
Problem is, I don't remember understanding anything of what was going on the first time, like ten years ago. Should I just trust that I'm less of a retard now?

Watch it in one go. The whole thing feels like one long-ass movie. Makes more sense if you take it in as one whole collective experience.
As for how dated it is, in a way it's sort of is (i.e. how it works in the first place), but I personally thought that the sentiments and ideas it had about it still feel pretty relevant to our modern perspective of the Internet and that's what makes it pretty great.
