Hyouka was pretty terrible all things considered. Meaningless melodrama and unrealistic characters with a terrible story that ultimately went nowhere. The only thing KyoAni did well with Hyouka was tricking people into thinking it was a good series through the use of pretty colors.

I haven't seen everything they made, but they did make my favourite anime of all time (Hibike Euphonium). And so far Phantom World is pretty disappointing by comparison.
