Answer me this one question
Why will Horizon S3 never be a thing?
>>137338786
Because Love Live exists.
Because they're busy with a better franchise, which is Love Live
>>137338786
Because terrible writing and directing
Because of Love Trash

It barely made a profit for Sunrise. Planning the show's setting was very resource-intensive.

This. Despite Horizon's great sales Love Live sold three times as much per volume than it with ten times less effort put into production. Add to this the fact that the LNs doesn't sell as well as Accel World, meaning Dengeki is more inclined to fund further installments of fatman in vidyaland than Horizon.

No way it didn't make a profit. ~21k sales per volume is great sales for just about any series. There's no chance in hell they needed anywhere near that to break even.
If you subscribe to the "adaptations are just ads for the source material" idea then it did pretty poorly. There wasn't really too much of an increase in ln sales.

It definitely made a good profit but proportionately, in comparison to like Love Live?
Like, apparently some of the people who worked on it don't want there to be an S3 because it would be even harder than what they went through with the first two seasons.
Not that that, in itself, is a reason why they're not doing it but that is a personal opinion from some of the people who worked on the series.

How do you figure? Horizon was in the top 10 sales around the time the final S2 BD was on sale.
>>137342904
My understanding was that the staff enjoyed working on it and were fans of the series.

Never lose hope.

I'm sure that not every one was, probably just most of the top blokes.
Even then, sometimes things you enjoy are just too much work. If you watch Shirobako and assume that is roughly a reasonable portrayal of the average TV anime production, then imagine what Horizon must be like to garner that sort of reaction to the idea of animating the third volume.

On average Horizon novels sell ~40k.
Compared to recent lns with adaptations that see well over 100k sales it's nothing special.

Better list actually.

It did it's job at the time.
They're also considerably larger than almost all the other LNs in the list and sell for proportionately more.
>>137338786
Because better series like Accel World and Zegapain need sequels.
>>137343625
>better series
>Accel World
Cracked me up.

As far as I'm aware, most of the leads like director, writer, etc. loved it in interviews and the like. But that one guy who got hired at Sunrise, Vale I think?, asked around and one of the other production assistants that worked on it hated how much go-between and fact-checking they had to do with the LN publisher for all the designs.

Where is the new Mai-Hime anime?
