Not only is it more accurate to the source material, but it retained most of the violence from the manga. Kazuhiro Furuhashi, one of the top directors in the industry at the time, turned Togashi's masterpiece manga into an even better anime adaptation. I really don't see how anyone can objectively think that the '11 series is superior when it falls flat in so many ways:
1. Amateur director that turned Hunter x Hunter into a Saturday-morning cartoon, with almost no violence or respect for the source material. Egotistical to say the least, to think he could tell a better story than Togashi.
2. Screamo music aimed at adolescent pre-teens with anger management issues. Just goes to show what kind of demographic they were aiming for.
It's no surprise the reboot took years to get licensed by Viz, considering Madhouse's haphazard treatment of the Hunter x Hunter property.

The Ryodan has known exactly how Kurapika's abilities work for a while now, even if he makes it out of the DC he's fucked because they know how to counter it. He barely made it out of Yorkshin and next time he stands even less of a chance.

Killua pretty much completely failed his second objective from the election arc because Illumi now knows everything about Alluka and can plan against it.
Gon is alone and nenless and still has to meet Gyro, he might be fucked depending on how it goes.
The only MC who i don't think is currently fucked is Ging but even then he's on Beyond's side so he'll either fail or get all the Zodiacs (Leorio and Pika included) killed, and i imagine that'd be the end of the hunter association if it happened.

Kurapika is probably stronger now. Don't forget, he didn't train very much and still gave them a huge fucking scare. Plus, we have yet to see his index finger's chain ability. Besides, I doubt the Troupe will be actively seeking him without restoring Chrollo's nen.
Leorio is probably just going to hang back as either a healer or he's going to have a lot of dumb luck.
I think Killua realized this, which is why he will always stay by Alluka's side. The only way for Illumi, or anyone, to get rid of Alluka is to separate him from Killua.

They found the Nen remover (black dude from GI), but nothing beyond that. Keep in mind that Feitan's party was the one that found them, and that Chrollo is currently traveling with Machi, Korotopi, and Nobunaga.
Have you not read the Chimera Ant arc? I seriously doubt that Togashi would push aside Chrollo, or kill him off-screen, if he had his nen restored.

I'm 99fag and this is obvious falseflagging. The first adaptation wasn't so much violent, in fact, Nippon Animation censored quite a lot of moments like Puhat's head or Chrollo's pen. The fight with Injuu and Uvogin torturing are much more naturalistic in Madhouse adaptation too.
All this has nothing to do with the level of direction and sound direction though (even if Furuhashi isn't the "top director in the industry" by any standarts).
