What is the most boring setting and why is it high school?
Better yet why is every KyoAni series set in high school? Are they just one trick ponies?
Yeah high school is kinda stale, but you have to consider that most of these shows are aimed for 14~16 years old kids, not fat neckbeards.

Highschool is the highlight of a japanese person's life. Everything past that is suffering for them as they work 24/7. That's the only time in their life that they feel like they had some freedom and everything was still fresh.
