Kinmoza was never interested in competing with anyone. She carved her own tale.

Whatever Yui Hara said when Kinmoza S2 arrived doesn't matter since it didn't end up in S2 anyway. What was even the point of Kinmoza S2? There were no character arcs or anything. The final episode did nothing. In Gochiusa every season had a big character arc, planned together with the author. That's why it feels more cohesive.

Anon, S2's final arc showed Shino and Alice litterally getting insane over the fact that they are so far away from each other.
Gochiusa's entire run showed no interest in taking risks.
Ayaya and Karen carry the entire show together.
All the Usagis carry the show equally together.
QED Gochiusa is better.
The Mosaics are still kinda cute, though.
Imho, Gochiusa S1 was cute but not as entertaining as Kinmoza/YuruYuri at the time.
But last year it stepped things up considerably with S2, while the formers got good but ultimately uneventful sequels.
So now it's right up there with them if you take the whole series into account.
