Pan, Trunks and Goku were the only ones with color illustrations and full design sheets. Those drawings of the other are the only designs that Toriyama gave the GT team. I guess he just didn't care much, since the original plan would focus entirely on the Black Star DB saga and so everyone else's design wouldn't really matter since they'd only appear in the first two episodes.

Beerus takes years to wake up from a nap (you could say that now he somehow only takes a few months and I would have to agree with you on that though), so during those many years it's possible that someone powerful surfaced; and he even dreams about the SSJ god, which is the reason why he goes out searching for him.
Gohan, as usual, didn't train; his ki actually decreased. So both Goku and Vegeta are way more powerful than him. The fact that Gohan is unable to do shit doesn't mean anything about what Goku or Vegeta could do.
Vegeta only landed a few punches because the other guy underestimated him; and also because they didn't actually hurt him, otherwise he would've done something about that. He easily defeats him as soon as Vegeta is done with his tantrum.

Yamcha was a chump compared to Krillin, who was a good bit weaker than Tien, who was much weaker than Piccolo. It depends on what you mean by that. Tenshinhan was close enough to Goku that both were left without energy at the end of the 22nd Budokai, but then by the end of the Piccolo Daimao arc he had no chance at all against the strongest of Piccolo's demons, while Goku beat him with one kick.
Then in the 23rd Budokai, although he forces Goku to stop using weighted clothing, he easily loses afterwards and during the final battle a tired Piccolo says that he easily could kill everyone else there. (and he uses a generic ki blast against them that leaves everyone saying that he's too fast and such).
The numerical difference was smaller, but it was pretty much the same thing as when, for example, people tried to help Goku when he weakened against #19.
