I've been watching Sailor Moon lately and am about 70 episodes in.
The first season is definitely worth a watch. There are some expected monster of the week lulls but overall it was great, especially the character-driven SoL moments that really make the show.
R feels like it is lacking a bit of that charm so far, in addition to new adding new flaws. The Space Elves arc was weak, but now that I am confronted with 5-10 minutes of Chibi-usa screentime for the next two dozen episodes I miss them.

Sailor Moon: intro season, kinda slow but you get to know the characters
Sailor Moon R: Filler arc at the beginning, but pretty good stuff. Intro to Chibiusa's character, and Death Moon arc.
Sailor Moon S: My personal fave. Intro to outer senshi like Uranus,Neptune,and Saturn. Villains are super enjoyable
Sailor Moon SS: Not my fave at all. But the last few eps were pretty good. Nehelania arc is one of my personal favorites. Just a chore to sit through some of the season to get to, though
Sailor Moon Stars: Manga version of this arc was better, but last few episodes were a great sendoff for the series
I'd say check it out, and don't skip filler eps since you need those in order to watch the characters grow. Most of the charm in the series for me, were the characters not the plot.
Whatever you choose to do, this anime is at least 200 eps long so don't rush

Her problem is that she only has finishing moves with long casting times, so she has to have the others fight the enemy until it'll hold still long enough to hit.
The only time she didn't use one of her attacks on a single weakened enemy was during the R movie where she disintegrated hundreds of monsters with a single sweep.

The anime has better pacing and characterization.
Though it does lack a few of the more brutal bits, like Venus using the sword against Beryl, and unfortunately Pluto isn't the school nurse.
