Depends on each series. As a general rule it's either seen as a valid substitute or as a "you could have done better but let's see if he's better than the reputation of an average human".
Think of it like a upper middle class daughter having a lower middle class boyfriend. Depending on the parents they either don't care or they'll be concerned if the guy has given their joint future serious thought and how he'll feed the family (as opposed to the regular elves and humans which is more like a noble father hearing from his daughter that she wants to marry a squire or a peasant).

At least in anime and manga they tend to portray it as them having a mixed life-span (+ being adept mage/warrior combo users) and depending on who the offspring marries the next generation basically integrating into whatever culture the husband/wife is.
(In most shows) High Elf halflings have it rougher though, as High Elf society considers them basically bastards, even if the High Elf mother is in a marriage with the human man it'll never be accepted as legitimate.
Wood elves is a bit trickier, depending on the show they are mixed with dark elves or they are their own race. They are generally portrayed as too trusting of humans for their own good, being romantically idealistic.
If anything they'd consider halflings a miracle and sign of peace and prosperity.
Even so, you can always find depictions that do it differently (the "Elf Wife" eromanga series portrays a high elf woman marrying a human man andthe mother later showing up and giving her blessing after trying to fuck him herself to test his loyalty)

- isekai no seikishi -> Related to the tenchiverse but for most effects and purposes selfcontained. Guy from our gets thrown into alternate world with magic and stuff. Dark elves are a normal part of society (though implied to have been slaves centuries ago, nobody really knows) and seen as equals. Elven girl is one of the suitors of the guy in the show and he isn't seen as a bad candidate by her family/tribe for being human.
- Gate, obviously. I don't want to spoil the dark elves given they will show up in the next season but suffice to say they are much more open towards sexuality in general (including amongst themselves) and not above asking for help of strangers (compare to the human empire in the show who are the ones "haughty" there).
- Record of Lodoss War if you haven't watched it already. Pretty much a must-see.
- (Not-technically-elves but whatever). Banner/Crest of the Stars has haughty space-elves (technically genetically modified humans) though admittedly, they basically outgun all other civilizations by several orders of magnitude. Has a love story between a "promoted to elf nobility" human and his assigned space-elf girlfriend (starts as a political arrangement and grows into them actually developing feelings for each other).
There are also a bunch of light/web novels with various degree of translation featuring them (a few featuring a male players getting stuck in the half-elf/full-elf female body of the online videogame they used to play) and then you have doujins and eromanga (which if you look will most of the time focus on getting high elves royalty getting toppled though you ocassionally also have dark elves. And even less times just vanilla stories, be it dark or vanilla elves)
