You can fuck off, just ran through it a month back and it was amazing. How can you say no one cared about the plot? Theres so much shit going on at all times throughout the entire show. Every character has their own development in this show and its balanced to perfection. I loved the plot, characters, dialogue, strategy, animation, almost all of it (pizza hut and cringy school scenes were there unfortunately)

Lelouch is a guy who makes do with his "smarts" while Suzaku is a guy who makes do with his "brawns" and it's far easier to insert into a guy with "smarts," because people generally think they're smarter than everyone else and that if they had some magic eye power that did not need physical ability, they would have the ability to fuck things up royally.
This point is further hammered in when we see Lelouch wheezing as if he was a fat guy after a simple run.

Why do people hate Suzaku?
Because he's a huge hypocrite. Wanted peace for everyone, and slaughters them in the belief that he will attain it. And yet, he seemed to hold such high morals and loyalty to the people he wants to defeat.
Meanwhile we got Lelouch, who only wants his own safety, nunnaly and revenge. And he chases after that. He doesn't lie to himself quite as much as Suzaku does, he just lies to everyone else.
