In all seriousness though, this is the first episode of Teekyu (excluding Nasuno) where Itagaki didn't touch the art at all. The OP was also storyboard only, and the animators are credited as sakuga, so they're probably not-cleaned-up drawings from the animators.
I bet he had a proud smile and a single, manly tear as the episode was airing.
