Trigger really bit off more than it could chew with all the stuff they were doing in KLK. Too many characters, not enough background or characterization.

There's a lot of stuff that more or less says Trigger was making shit up as they went along, sadly.
They probably had a strong original story concept, but they blew it up too far with far too many details, characters, and false plot hooks, and while they were probably still rolling with the series already.
Nothing Happens: The Anime
After every episode the status quo was reset. Even when the ENTIRE NAKED PEOPLE ORGANIZATION WAS DESTROYED... no, there was a secret base underground. Even when SENKETSU WAS SHREDDED AND STOLEN, LEAVING RYUKU POWERLESS... no, the next episode she gets all the pieces back and repairs Senketsu.
I couldn't deal with it anymore.
