>>135959668 It was great how the ending tied with the whole story. Everything built up fine but most of /a/ wasn't able to tell because they're too focused on each individual episode rather than the whole big picture.
Also, I thought that the show was actually really good. But /a/ is only into SoL loli-harem shit that helps them not kill themselves for another day. I am excited for the release of the final episode that concludes everything and the extra unaired episode.
First half was scooby doo. Second half was something bad, I don't even know what to call it. Wannabe action-thriller? You could've made like three different movies based off of what happened there.
Too many ideas, not enough cohesion between them, when the "bad guys" showed up they were dogshit (and kind of went against the narrative because they weren't even fucking scientists, it was just a gang that used psykers), but worst of all was the ending. That was not something you can write up in one episode.
Fucking shitshow. Nothing happened in 6 episodes, then they suddenly decided to move plot forward and rush the fuck out of it. Absolutely terrible characters, Not to mention Idol girl, glasses boy are totally irrelevant.
All in all just another fucktarded Maeda show. It didnt even sell that well. And as you can see from this fanbase, only selling point is Nao because of her design.
>>135959668 It was bad. Putting aside the fact that he does the same fucking thing every single time there were still a few large problems. The show spent quite a few episodes on some of the side characters then near the end made those characters completely useless to the story. The time they wasted on pointless characters ended up making the ending rushed as hell and even if the ending wasn't rushed having someone literally go around the entire planet in the fashion that he did is entirely impossible given the time limitations.
>>135978201 >entirely impossible given the time limitations I have to disagree on that one. He had around two years. He was able to teleport, fly, go without sleeping and probably had other abilities that helped. Plus there were lots of places with had hundreds of people stuck in one place. What do you mean he did the same thing every single time?
>>135978335 I'm sure someone has the Jun Maeda bingo image. Even with his powers having to travel around the world and take over over every ability user for five seconds would take way too long. You underestimate the amount of work that he had to do.
>>135978464 Well what did you expect? That's just how key always works. All the more reason why you all shouldn't be whining since you know what to expect. I still can't believe people actually watched this because they thought it was going to be Code Geass. But I still don't get why you would think it was impossible. He only had to go around and find a few ten thousand people. Either way, it's the effort the mc went through that really matters.
Every single good part of the show was obliterated by that literal autistic bitch Nao. The plot contrivances in nearly every episode border on insulting, and it honestly baffles me that people can watch this and not have an immediate visceral reaction of disgust. Fuck Charlotte and especially fuck Nao, this anime has pissed in my coffee.
I liked some episodes on their own, but how each of them was linked together was pretty bad and kind of jarring. The music and art were pretty great and it had some funny moments. Overall it is one of the more memorable anime from 2015 but not necessarily good. Nao a cute.
>>135982264 I never said I liked it. What confuses me that someone who whines about it as much as you do would continue to watch the whole thing right to the end. Not to mention how you dislike the one of the few good things about the show.
>>135983445 >Disappointment of the year is probably an understatement. Really? There were far worse disappointments last year. Then again, you're the idiot tripfag who needs to be spoonfed and doesn't know what plotholes are.
>>135982180 I don't know why people are complaining why they didn't have a "backstory" or get any "development". They're side characters, they don't need it. Just like all side characters, they were useless to the plot but were essential in some way. The show would be a lot more depressing if they weren't there to lighten the mood.
It was AOTS material Threads were fucking cancer though First it was shitposting about the MC being an edgy faggot Then it was shitposting about the MC becoming a beta faggot Then it was shitposting about Nao being a controlling bitch Followed by shitposting about the terrible pacing Then we got some dank memes >Used goods >He's a big guy >NTR
Pic related tho, why is there always forced NTR in my chinese cartoons?
Nao a cute, pizza sauce a cute, the show had potential to be AOTS, AOTY, even, but they crammed the amount of material that could be enough to make an entire second cour into ONE episode.
Imagine if instead that shit, we had the crew going around the world (sorta like the first couple of episodes, but with more plot and various locations) having Yuu capture abilities and tracking the gang that fucked shit up, which, of course, escaped, and was not immediately captured. There could be shit about dealing with Yuu going nuclear due to all the powers, and the whole ethics of time travel thing, where one of the last abilities Yuu gets finally allows him to time travel again (and make it so that he doesn't land in his shota body), and he has to choose between staying in the world that he has now cured, with his cute gf Nao, or going back in time to fix everything completely.
Then you could have a scene where tiny Nao goes to school with her onii-chan, and Yuu's just out there watching.
>>135988299 The threads were just the worst. Don't forget about how triggered people got when Nao beat up the mc in the first episode, the guys who continued to watch it just to whine about, the Brazilian shitposter, the whole "beating people up is ok but smoking weed is not" posts, the awful metal gear memes, nao is the telepathic villain threads, the guy who made threads trying to prove that nao got raped but ended up getting proved wrong every time and the "courage" threads. There were a lot more. I only went on the threads for the edits.
>>135989067 Except that we've had endings like that before countless times and since the entire show was based upon Yuu fulfilling his promise to come back, everyone would be pissed at not getting a happy ending they were promised.
>>135989706 It's a great idea and everything but I just want everyone to be happy in the end since everyone has suffered enough already. That's probably the reason why I liked the ending because it was bittersweet.
>>135959668 It's terrible. So many fucking problems with it that it drives me insane. The biggest issues is MC remembering a timeline that he never experienced, unfunny overused jokes, the fucking terrorist plotline was unnecessary and made absolutely no sense with the timing, and the last episode oh my fucking God.
>>135959668 My expectations were too high for it. I was expecting someone really amazing, and when I didn't get it, I seem to be more critical of it than other shows. I feel like sport fan getting a bad pick.
>>135959668 Bad premise, worse execution, and even worse direction. Maeda shouldn't make anime, really. It just tries to be "DO YOU FEEL SAD NOW?" instead of having any real connection between the characters or real impact during important scenes. The edgy MC only made it worse
>>135959668 Loved the first half. Went absolutely down the shitter the last 4 episodes or so. It really had everything set up so well, but it should have been 24 episodes, with the latter half just being about Yuu traveling the world and seeing things and people and their abilities.
I was okay throughout the first half, got kind of stupid in the second half and the ending completely killed it off. I guess the VN will be better, would like to see the bad ending happening after MC decides to travel back in time after stealing that little girl's healing powers
>>135994891 Dude, that video was only a minute and half or so long. As shit as it was, it was worth it for the panorama shot. Shame we never got to see the same level of animation as Angel Beats when it came to the gig and music video.
>>135997250 That's because it was legit amazing, up to episode 9, that is
