What other sports anime have this mix with SoL/training and actual matches where the opposite team arent just some nonames? I really enjoy Haikyuu but i rarely watch sports anime but i have seen Oofuri with i liked a lot but it got kind of a different vibe to it.

Haikyuu is good because it is realistic. The MC isn't a god but just a kid with good jumping power and eyes, that is it. No one on the team is spectacular and they do lose enough to want you to make them win. Opposing teams have interesting enough characters to see them in action as opposed to Kuroko where the generation of miracles are the main fucking show the entire time through.

I ended up liking Kuroko a lot more than I thought I would. He was more like the silent flame, the middle ground between hetare faggot and typical hotheaded shounen protagonist. The only thing I hate is the random powerups and asspulls from him, but that's more because the mangaka fucking sucks.

I would recommend Hajime no Ippo.
It has god tier comedy and hype as fuck fights.

Talking about Haikyuu, while I won't cast my vote on any of them I must admit I'm impressed by Kageyama because of how he turned his character type on it's head. Same goes for their entire team dynamic where the older ones actually do something. But as best sports protagonist? No.
