Nen is probably the best, it's creative but with well thought out mechanics backing it up. And the vow/restriction aspect is so clever from a writing perspective that it's almost cheating, it essentially lets Togashi write anything he wants (like Gon san) but with inherent conflict attached so you can't logically consider it an asspull.

I have a love/hate relationship with Nen. It's a very creative system with interesting rules and restrictions that allows for all sorts of powers and varied uses for them.
But it's also arbitrary as fuck and really only makes sense within the context of HxH. A lot of what makes it interesting raises questions like, 'why does X follow Y' that don't make too much sense under scrutiny.

Kido is too strong because it can let anyone use almost any power including time fuckery. It had to be mistreated otherwise no one would bother using their zanpakuto as anything beyond general power level buffs. That one kido visored didn't even use his zan period, and his teleporation spell is what succeeded where a physical zan failed.
Nen is the best from a writer's standpoint.
An ideal power system creates an expectation of conflict along with growth, a lot of anime power systems are just grunting and sweating until you unlock the next power in your level progression, there's no real excitement other than the obviousness that the next enemy introduced will be even stronger for no reason other than that there needs to be conflict.
The entire nen restriction/training system allows for even 'weak' enemies to pose a palpable threat while not going over the expectations of the written world. Overall it adds more excitement as well since half the battle is learning how the enemy's power works and what restrictions are in place.

I liked that it really just treats telekinesis as the ability to control matter from a distance, which is what it is. Most of the time telekinesis gets the short end of applications and is reduced to one specific task like making invisible footsteps in the air or a hand you can use to pick things up and put them down, in LatBH it just represented the movement of particles via a manipulable sphere of influence.
Some of them used it in big general attacks like the houtengeki and the spear
some of them used it in precise minute ways like shaking particles to produce heat/cold or slicing things finely
And of course Airspace Control Babylon was hype as fuck in execution, logic, and introduction.
It's a shame spirit circle's powers and abilities haven't been nearly as cool as Lucifer, but Mizukami is good for his characters and less for his battles anyway.
Any sort of telekinesis system is god tier.
Especially since it's like a muscle, and it gets stronger every time you use it.

I agree, I'm not sure if I'd call it the coolest but definitely the best thought out one and the most structured. It has enough leeway to give the writer enough freedom to be creative while having well enough imposed and structured set of rules to not feel cheap or complete bullshit, like for example Fairy Tail were the magic has no rules, every magicians magic just exists for without explanation as to how they got it, or was created, how it works, it's limitations, etc. This is all thanks to the conditions/restriction system Togashi made, that's the key of what makes it so good in my opinion. Everything else like nen categorization and whatnot is just a nice extra touch.

I hate it because it's an unverifiable power level. Both characters can haki so instead of it being haki = haki, it's my haki > your haki. It would have been better left as a 'if haki is applied I have a chance at hitting your main body, assuming it's in the location I strike at the time'. But now we've had some arcs that demonstrate that it's a fucking powerlevel (vergo/law, luffy/doff).
Yes I understand that it's basically the characters ego (so is CoC) given form. I could forgive the bosses of each island/group as we progress having the next tier of strength (determined simply by their location/rank/ position in life).
It's probably best to see it's later powerlevel applications as character skill in their combat style. I just hate it being used in a my haki > your haki way.

The only bad thing is my powerlevel > your powerlevel being rather arbitrary (thus negating what ever it is you do). There's no way to specifically trace or determine when a character has that level and only a few demonstrate it.
Other than that it kinda works, but has some complete bullshit things like hyperbolic time chamber, a few months is enough for centuries/decades old ghosts whose life is nothing but getting stronger making sudden and huge leaps in very short spans of time when it was previously established that shit takes decades.
But it went conceptual powers in mexico and never looked back at giving the elemental/physical any real chance.

Horizon has a really neat system. Most people have very little power on their own (internal blessings). Instead, people recieve buffs and spells from whichever God they worship, whether that's the Abrahamic one, the millions of Shinto gods or anything else. The Shinto system is especially interesting due to the sheer variety in powers that can be received from different gods. So if you're contracted to a god of entertainment, you can get buffs related from that for dancing or just being a funny guy. If you're contracted to a god of finance, you can get buffs related to money, and so on.

Naruto chakra might be the best, it needs good channeling and concentration to master it. It's basically to super power yourself and give your self abilities such as water walking, flying and fighting abilities. It's used to empower your physical and/or spell powers.
