The anime adds a lot of tension and emotion with the voice acting and soundtrack. The manga just has better art and feels a little more technical in comparison.

Eurobeat aside, the 1st Stage had absolutely godly BGM.
No other stage has quite managed to recreate the feel and night racing atmosphere that 1st Stage had.
1st Stage forever a best, it actually feels fun with Itsuki buying a shit car, Iketani's love struggles etc. as opposed to Stage 4 onwards where it's just racing and no other fun allowed. And the 1st stage races were far more memorable than anything that came after.
