When I was a kid I used to have digimon DVDs, can't remember exactly how many but I remember that it ended at Angemon and Devimon both turning back into eggs.
How much did I miss? I have no clue of any digivolution past watever stage greymon and garurumon are.
I also watched adventure 2, that was okay, and then tamers but I dropped that, didn't like it.

It naturally reached Adult stage on her own. That's its default stage.
The real reason is because there's really no reason to have it revert to Child since its Adult stage is already conveniently small and easily portable. That's the real reason why everyone else always reverts to Child form. It'd be really inconvenient to have a giant dinosaur or conspicuous angel follow you around everywhere. Most of the higher forms wouldn't be able to enter some buildings. Being small's just more convenient for narrative purposes.

I was a nostalgiafag, only ever having watched Adventure and 02. After tri, I went back and started watching the other series, and after the first couple episodes of each, I grew to like Tamers, Savers, and even Frontier, But I'm 10 episodes into Xros and I still can't stand it.

The red light on the side is a scanner, and we've seen that model of digivice materialize new weapons before, so it's likely to have the necessary hardware. All it would need is a software update and some NFC chips to hold powerup data.
Hell, they could even include parts of a bio-digivice to allow matrix evolution!

Literally first think I thought of when I saw the GeoGreySword was that it was basically a card clash.
Although realistically, the only thing stopping any digivice from performing any function is the limitations of its canon. The DScanners were made for Spirit Evolution, but they're still Digivices, so they should be able to channel human emotion to invoke evolution.
The original digivice existed before the concept of biomerging, but nothing really differentiates it from the DArc.

It has its positives that one may enjoy as a digimon fan, like the different and colorful zones with some cool and often enough iconic old digimons. Then you may also grow to like for its Xros merits, like the characters (including the digimons) and superb voice acting. I was never quite a big fan of the more mecha-esque digivolutions of the series, but at some point they become really hype.
I suggest you to not try to watch Hunters though, unless you're some sort of completionist like me and want some sort of medal.Oh and to watch the crossover at the end of the season.

Not sure if that's a good idea for Digimon, since attacking moves are all over the place. Some Digimon aren't even capable of ranged attacks, others look like they shouldn't be capable of ranged attacks but somehow emit projectiles anyway, and vice-versa with primary ranged/energy attackers.
Using just a single attack stat would simplify the whole affair—especially when you consider that a Digimon could evolve from, say, Meramon (ranged only) to Triceramon (melee only), and then on to Cannondramon (ranged only again), and it would somehow have to keep/upgrade its stats along the way.
How do Defense and Armor interact with each other? Defense for ranged, Armor for melee?
