Not as bad as I thought it was in spite of the obnoxious fanbase during its popularity peak

legit good fantasy series, legit good anime
>>
It just went on forever trying to kill this one dick that just wouldn't die
>>
>>135500714
It is quite underrated
>>
It was pretty good. I watched the entire series in one go, wew.
>>
Characters were nice, i liked the kikyou and kagome comparisons and the shift of kikyou throughout the series.
>>
>>135505290
>Use to hate kikyo
>She ended up being better in the end because kagome was just a self insert
>>
Legit repetative Pokemon shit.
>>
>>135504768
>Inuyasha is underrated
I'm 70% sure this is bait, but I can't stop myself from getting mad.

>3D
>thinks a complete piece of shit with one of the biggest fanbases of the 2000s is underrated
Fuck off.
>>
>>135506610
>Shitposting in 2016
Here I thought it was going to be a faggot free year.
>>
>>135506725
Tell me how on earth it's underrated, then. It was as big as almost anything, and it's literally ~two hundred episodes of repetitive battles with a for-the-lulz villain who refuses to die, interspersed with time-wasting shit, annoyingly retarded characters, and almost no development.
>>
>>135505354
>Self inserting into Kagome
You take a lot of dog-dicks as a kid?
>>
>>135507100
>I literally have not a fucking clue how characters are written.
>>
>>135500714
The fan base literally doesn't affect the quality of the show.
>>
>>135500714
It would have been quite a bit better if it wasnt 80% filler, 15% plot that might as well have been filler and 5% actual plot, the amount of times the thing teased progression just to be fucking nothing is staggering.
>>
INUYASHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
>>
>>135507433
They don't affect it, but they're often a decent gauge. For example, anything liked mainly by fujoshi and middle school boys is probably not very good.

ITT: Overrated shit
>>
>>135504768

It is. A lot of 2000s entertainment is underrated because of its then huge fanbase despite actually being cool. Not just anime either. See: Evanescence.
>>
>>135506610

Your description is a better fit for Naruto

Inu Yasha was a different version of Death Note's "great manga/anime, shitty fanbase" problem
>>
>>135507559

>anything liked mainly by fushoji is probably not that good

There are some serious exceptions, hell even some canon Yaoi stuff is good in the rare case that the plot and characters don't read like a gay version of a penny soap opera
>>
>>135507539

It mirrored the plot structure of spiritual themed adventure epics like The Taiheki from medieval Japan

People who complain about it were expecting a more modern western storytelling style
>>
>>135507433

that's a huge part of how your perception of the show is coloured

like how kill la kill's irl fanbase are obnoxious twits
>>
>>135510894
That's why I said probably.

>>135510827
It's really not. Even Death Note goes to shit partway through, but InuYasha's pretty bad for at least 80% of its run.
>>
>>135500714
It's highly overrated.
However for a light action/romance.
>it's ok.
Nothing more nothing less.
>>
>>135510894

Love some yaoi but not cool with the sketch af age gap fetish that happens in a lot of yaoi manga

Inuyasha was better when he turned into a hot girl
>>
>>135512199

Soundtrack is well composed and stirring, art style is cute and colorful but also shows dark stuff when necessary, series has tight magic fueled fantasy action sequences. The characters are p. one note and sometimes annoying and it pretends not to be as episodic as it is, but that's no reason not to watch it and enjoy it.
>>
>>135512399
I agree, great soundtrack.
>>
>>135505354

Kikyo mostly appears as a memory and her image is used to manipulate Inu Yasha. That's pretty sweet, so is the fact Inu Yasha's continuing pining for her is corrosive to him.
>>
>>135512493

The main battle/episode preview theme probably deserved a better series but was one of the best things the show had going for it.
>>
InuYasha is the product of a shojo comedy artist trying to do a serious story and should be treated as such, still a good quest fantasy

As that it works well, it's always just been the anime equivalent of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time books
>>
>>135512751
She is capable of doing serious stuff well, mermaid scar is a great example.
>>
>>135512751
She has literally never written a shoujo.
>>
>>135513106
Mermaid Forest/Scar is definitely an underrated Takahashi work.
>>
>>135514112
Surprisingly effective work of horror.
>>
>>135500714
SHow was just kinda like "WINDSCAR" bleach. going ona nd on in circles with no real "WINDSCAR" progression and hardly any development. seems like what we got as "WINDSCAR" established characters is what the show sticked with most of the time. Not to mention it felt like main arcs just coasted over a sea of "BACKLASH WAVE" filler adventures and stuff that really didnt matter. And it may have just been me, but the show felt like it wanted to be more cute than "WINDSCAR" than any with sustenance.
>>
InuYasha was not just a good fantasy series, it was a great fantasy series. Literally the Star Wars or Lord of the Rings of anime, absolutely groundbreaking stuff

>Grand scale epic, huge and immersive fictional world, giant mythology - partly drawn from real spiritual beliefs - in the background, adrenaline pumping fight scenes, God tier OST, beautiful and noble good guys against elegant and savage villains, swashbuckling sword and sorcery adventure in a huge playground of a fantasy setting, with just enough focus on character drama and emotions

10/10 series all around
>>
What's with the croses of light appearing here?
>>
>>135514548

New Year's prank.
>>
>>135514193
I remember being genuinely spooked out by it. It's too bad she'll never finish it.
>>
>>135514548
fuck you
>>
>>135506610

what's wrong with posting 3D?
