Yuu is the second trumpet.

Rather than taking the flaming mountain literally when he reinterprets the Trumpets, Kagami links the destruction of the seas with salt, which has religious significance in many cultures and is mentioned in the bible with the story of Lot's Wife.
Kagami is interpreting her being turned into a pillar of salt as a punishment for breaking the rules of god (there are multiple interpretations for why turning back to look at the city turned her into a pillar of salt). As the Seraphs are shown in series to be punishing humans for breaking god's laws, it makes perfect sense for them to have powers related to that.
Kagami is avoiding the cliche of a fire wielding MC by instead giving him an equally justifiable power over salt, which has the added bonus of being versatile and original so readers won't be able to guess so easily how his power will be used in fights. Salt is used to purify and ward off evil or bad luck, can be manipulated in granular form, and can be used to create solid salt blocks. Yuu's Seraph has also shown the ability to turn other items and creatures into salt.
