Seriously, Mobile Suit Gundam was penned by a retard who doesn't understand how human emotions work on a relatable level. Macross had some of the best written characters of its era and a story that evoked meaning.

I just finished it.
It made me feel poka poka but not much else. Nothing to write home about apart from aging well and the overall pace and feel. I don't think Misa deserved to be treated like that and it's hard to swallow that Hikaru was dense the whole time and not just an asshole. He made no apologies, and there was no punishment for hubris (two-timing even when he was acutely aware of Misa's feelings). But I get that it's a consequence of not being straight with your feelings for both Hikaru (with Minmay) and Misa (with Hikaru).
Romance is pretty underhanded because it's really easy to evoke emotions such as warmth, frustration, or sympathy. That said, it was enjoyable. Misa should've gotten a little more payback but I guess when you finally win the other person over, you get what you wanted .
Great use of an ED though and the songs were always fun.
